Great this tread is still active. This Respiratory Therapist is now sleeved. Surgery was 2/3/14 and I can say all is well. No problems sipping, getting my fluids and Protein in. Walking is going well my OR IV fluids has come off nicely and as of today I am down 5 lbs from Monday morning. I think about the Stephen King movie "Thinner" when I see myself begin to melt. I'm on my way. 2014 is my year!!!

Im 20 weeks post-op and down 127 lbs. Ive lost ~46 inches from head to toe and feel great.

Ive got 90-100 lbs to go.
The left picture is back in December of 2013 and the right was from Memorial Day 2014..
2014 is my year.I turn 50 last week and am in better shape now then when I was 38-39...Life is good.

Shaved it all off, and shave it daily, that's how my hubby likes it.

I hit goal weight a few weeks ago:
Surgery Date: Nov 28, 2012 Goal Weight Date: Aug 28, 2014 Height: 5'9 Starting Weight: 390 lbs Current Weight: 160 lbs Weight Lost: 230 lbs Current BMI: 23.6 Guidelines I followed once allowed regular food after surgery:

Minimum per day intake:
1 carbohydrate 1 vegetable 1 fruit 2 Calcium 5 Protein Tips:
Water (Alkaline)
Protein 80g per day
Fat is your friend (Avo, coconut oil, seeds, nuts, lean meat)
Sugar is your enemy (Maximum 2 fruit per day)
Exercise will get easier

This is not a stupid question, but it is a common one. From the other posts I have read, the amount of loose skin you end up with depends on your age, genetics and how long you have been overweight. Exercise may be helpful, but it may not make much of a difference. But since exercise is important, it's totally worth doing.
