I was told 6 weeks before doing core exercises.- I'm embarrassed...
- How long operation ?
Surgery takes about an hour if you have a surgeon who is methodical. The. It takes time for the anesthesia to wear off. 2 to 3 hours I'd say would cover it, but I was passed out and lost track of time. I just decided to let go and surrender to the process. Hard for me,because I'm pretty controlling. Lol- Will I always have to sip?
I drink just fine now, but I try to not gulp. I was drinking out of the straw the other day at a restaurant and forgot that I'm not supposed to. I had no pain. I'm not a fan of pain, so I try to avoid it. :-). I purchased camelback squeeze water bottle and those are working great. I do my best to follow the rules, but I let my own common sense lead me. Everyone is different.- Pre pre pre-op
I relate to your addiction. I was a carboholic. It's like crack cocaine to me. Some may say that's drastic, but it's poison to my body type and most overweight folks. It was killing me. I was on 10 medications. Still taking medications I hope to soon get off of due to my drastic diet change. I love my new tummy. It definitely is NOT the easy way out. Screw those who think so. That's being nice of me. This is massive change for us foo addicts. We need a tool to help us be disciplined and change our habits. I eat 2 oz. of tuna and I'm full. I could throw down a foot long sub with all the fixins , a bag of chips, and a drink like it was nothing. What I found out after surgery is my stomach is huge. My surgeon said my stomach could fit over my head. No wonder I could at a whole bag of Doritos in one sitting. Check your insurance and see if they pay for it. A lot are paying for it now. You do have to jump through hoops and it will be a test to see how committed you are to changing your life. It's massive change taking this journey. However, it ps the best gift you will ever give yourself and your new wife. You want to be around and live a full life for you, her, and the kids you may have. We are 80% of control of our health. I would not change a thing. Anyway...the cost depends on your insurance or the place you get it performed. My co pay was $800.00. My insurance only pays so much and my surgeon got as much as he could get from insurance as most docs do. :-). Some of the same surgeons that work in the U.S. Work in Mexico. I live in Las Vegas and I've seen this. Anyway, I hope I have helped you some. Feel great about you and do what's best for you. You deserve it!!!- Why am i not losing weight?
This is actually very normal as LisaDM has stated. Your body also has gone through a shock and thinks it's being starved. There is another topic and covers this too. There's an article you can find about how your muscles are holding on to water. I had the same issue getting enough calories in. Protein is critical to keep your body from losing muscle and hair. My wellness doc would like me to get 100 grams a day of protein. I've only hit it a few times since my surgery. My nutritionist has recommended animal sources of protein for now first in my tiny tummy. Cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, canned chicken, fish, ground turkey are just a few things that I focus on getting in to hit the protein levels of 90 g's a day. I have stalled too, but I'm going by my clothes. I've dropped a size and I have a ton of energy. I still weigh myself daily and wish I wasn't obsessed with the stupid number. I used to ignore my weight, now I can't stop thinking about it. Lol. I just read an article by a very fit and healthy person who stated she never goes by the scale. She believes in the tape measure. The more muscle we have the more we can weigh over fat. Anyway....it WILL come off. There is no way it can't. Stay encouraged that you're taking care of you! :-). That's what is most important. You gotta feel better than how we used to eat. Best wishes! Lori- HELP! Denied by BCBS IL Boeing ins.

For me my whole family are great at gorging and eating unhealthy. I decided the holidays for me will be more about the emotional aspect. What I mean is....focusing on the love I have for my family and just enjoying their company. I had my 44th birthday this Sunday and no cake or gourmet cupcakes my daughter usually gets me. My brother offered to take me out to dinner. They forget. Lol. What I decided to do was jut enjoy the family time. We laughed a lot as I ate my sugar fee pudding. Lol. We also were thinking about doing some service or volunteer work and giving back to our community on the holidays. My daughter work for Starbucks and they require it. So she has done a lot. It may be our new tradition and get the focus off food. I hope that inspires you! :-). Best wishes! - September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
