    "Good" Fast Food?

Carl's Jr will sell just a charbroiled chicken breast for around 2.50. I get a side of BBQ sauce and dip lightly. It's cheaper than ordering a Charbroiled chicken sandwich and I don't end up feeling bad about wasting anything.

    Lasagna Cupcakes!

These were amazing. I added some taco seasoning to the meat and minced garlic. So good!

    Teachers Supporting Sleeved Teachers

This is a fabulous idea. I am a special education life skills teacher for High School grades 9th - 12th in California. I was sleeved June 28th 2013 and am pleased to say I feel much better my pain is barely noticeable and I am up and moving way more!!! Congrats to those that have been sleeved and are in the process of losing and good luck to those in the process of getting approved!

Will i loose my big girls?

I was a 38DDD when I got the lap band I lost 100 pounds and needed a lift and breast implants due to them just not sitting as high as they use to and being deflated. After the procedure I was a 36 D. Due to complications with my band I was sleeved June 28th 2013 since surgery I have lost 12 pounds and once again it's time to buy a new bra or 2.
  5. When I got the lap band originally I was a BMI of 40 with this insurance I did have asthma ( however I do not have to use an inhaler unless I get upper respiratory infections). After 9 months of success and 100 pounds down I ran into horrible problems with the band. My doctor said I needed to switch to the sleeve. When he submitted it to insurance I had a BMI of 30 and he said even if it was medically necessary he was unsure if they would cover it because my BMI was so low. Needless to say after only two weeks insurance had approved my surgery and I was scheduled to get the band removed and have the sleeve done. I must say I do have their PERS choice PPO plan though. I hope this helps you.

    Vitamins

I did the Bariatric Advantage twice a day chewable a because my doctor said they would be the best for me. I thought they would cost a fortune but it was actually only 1.99 for 25 of the convenient daily packs ( now you do have to take 2 a day) but still 1.99 for 12 and a half days isn't bad!!! I got them in the orange and they are quite good to me.
  7. Hi There, I just wanted to take a second to introduce myself. My name is Amanda and I started my weight loss journey in April 2012 when I got the lap band. For the first nine months I did really well. I had dropped 100 pounds and was exercising 5 times a week. My life had changed, but that is when things changed. I started getting sick after fills and throwing up almost everything I ate. I was hospitalized twice for severe dehydration. I also had never had acid reflux before but it was starting to get so bad. At that point I went to my surgeon and asked him to take it out. He said he wasn't sure if the problems were being caused by the band but he did day that I would like the sleeve 100 times better. Needless to say my doctor took out my band on June 28th 2013 and did the sleeve procedure. During surgery he found that my band had been causing the problems my band had slipped and I had a large hiatal hernia. I might have had some pain for the first three days and still some lingering muscle strain and the gas might be out of control but I am extremely thankful for the sleeve. Gone are the days of having to drink coffee before every meal to loosen my band, I also don't have to make bad choices so that I can eat anymore. Plus it has been five days since I have thrown up which is the longest period of time that I can remember for the last five or six months. My surgeon was amazing and I am thankful that his staff pushed the request through insurance and got me approved in under 2 weeks. To all of you out there on your journey congratulations for taking life in your own hands and making the changes you need to get happy and healthy. Good luck on your journey and thank you for having a place like this where I can check in every time something new happens so I can know what it is and if it is something else others go through.
