  1. I got sleeved feb 25 I'm down 73 lbs. I love everything about my new lifestyle! No problems except my hair is thinning & I'm doing everything I can to stop/prevent it.
  2. I had the sleeve in feb. I'm down 73lbs! Best thing I've done & I would do it again tomorrow! I hope you have a good experience, I've had a great one so far!
  3. Good for you! Hope everything goes great!
  4. Awesome progress! Yes it's scary to think about gaining weight back, I'm only 5 months out but I think about it 24/7, yes you should enjoy your life at your new weight but it's smart to worry a little to not get back into your old bad habits! I too never want to go back to being so heavy & people remind me every day that they know "someone" who got fat again. Well guess what it won't be me! Good luck!
  5. Oh I so understand, my mother in law baked me a CAKE for my birthday! Props to you for sticking w/it! I j/look at sweets now & think your gonna get fat again it's not worth it! I have this quote that says " skinny feels better than food tastes!"
  6. I had my surgery Feb 2013 I was 28 @ the time, now 29 I've lost 73lbs! Best decision I've ever made!
  7. This is really sad, but yes I've heard it a lot. I actually stopped talking to people about it, just did all my foot work then had surgery, if they won't be supportive then it's none of their business. If they won't learn about it or take the time forget them.
  8. This is crazy, I've had similar things happen to me. People are crazy and too opinionated. I had to "educate" a ton of people on the subject, it was annoying but it was the only way for people to understand me & what I was doing. The doctor who did my pshyc eval said to get those negative, unsupportive people out of your life. I'm glad your strong enough to over look them.
  9. That's so exciting! It's just around the corner! I know what you mean I have a supportive partner I do too, it's a huge help. Our "private" life was good before but now it's even better! Lol! Hope all the best for you on your journey! Good luck!
  10. Awesome!!! Good for you! It will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself! You know I don't have much experience in family being unsupportive but I will say, no one truly understands what you are going through unless you are "one of us"! My family is supportive but it's been a long educational process & no one understands me unless they are in my shoes! You have us girl! Good Luck & God Bless!
  11. Hi Everyone! My name is Mandy I'm 29 & the Vertical Sleeve gave me back my life! I was 266lbs (size 22) 5 months ago & now 193lbs (size 14)! I'm off my C-pap machine (no more snoring either) I've had NO problems! This is the best thing I've ever done for Myself for health, emotionally & physically. I eat more healthy than I've ever done & I want to for once! When I'm at the grocery I look in my cart & I'm thinking "who's groceries are these"?! I'm so happy with my results this far now it's up to me to keep it up, this defiantly is not a quick fix, I can see why people gain weight back, this is a disease being this over weight( it's an eating disorder). I'm trying my best with eating healthy, walking & doing hand weights, trying to decide where I want to go from here & what I'm willing to do to get there. I haven't felt this good about myself in a long time! I'd recommend this to anyone who's thinking of having the V-Sleeve it's changed everything about me!
  12. YES!!! I'm 5 months out I've lost 73 lbs! Yes it's hard, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I have my health & my life back, I've never felt better. The only hard thing I've dealt with is hair loss & I know how to fix it.
  13. I did, mostly just here and there. I just took an Advil. Your still not far out from surgery it took me 2-3 months. But you should mention it to your doctor just in case.
  14. Congrats! Your pic is great! I'm out 4 months and 1 week I'm down 69lbs today! Best thing I've ever done for myself!
