  1. First fill since 11/09

In september I will have had my band for 4 years. I have not given up on myself or my band. I had GOOD restriction for a while and lost 75lbs. I don't know what happened but I lost the restriction and could eat anything....and waited to long to go back to the doc. Well I went today....hope it does the trick!
  2. Rockin' my band

4 months since my recommitment fill. I have had 2 more fills since then and have lost 55lbs. Did you hear that 55lbs in 4 months. I am loving this band. I took me a year and a half to get any restriction... then when I did it just took off. It is doing everything it is suposed to do. Restricts how much I can eat, keeps me satisfied longer and it has decreased my appitite. I can't remember if it was suposed to do that but it has... and I love it.

  3. Walking on sunshine!

Oh my gosh. I stepped on the scale this morning and I am down 50 lbs. I was hovering at 45 for so long I thought the scale would never budge and then pow I dropped 5lbs. I don't know how many fills I have had or how many cc's I have(because the doc doesn't tell me) but it really doesn't matter I am for sure at my sweet spot. My last fill was 1.5 weeks ago and wow!!!!:frown:
  4. Concerta

Chronic fatigue does not lend itself to weight loss. My crazy doc put me on concerta and ....wow... I have energy, I can exercise, I don't sleep all day. I dropped 38 lbs in 2 months. I used to hate my band. I've had it since Sept 2007. I lost 16 lbs at first but gained them back plus 5. I also started taking nicotinic acid and L-arginine before bed. A body builder friend of mine said it helps the body lose more fat than muscle. It also helps support connective tissue....like skin:thumbup:. Maybe it will help with the loosey goosey flappy junk that I know I have in my future. I can hope.

  5. I'm Back!

After months of self sabetoge I am finally recommitted. My band has never been filled enough. I have always been able to eat anything. So I had a fill today....under fleuro. My doc said my band was still in perfect position and my pouch was fine....no distension. He was relieved since he hadn't seen my band since last summer and was worried. He gave me a full cc fill so I think that brings me to 8 in my 12cc band. I'm crossing my fingers. This fill feels different than the others....I can feel it. It feels like I have to burp. Could be swelling I guess. water passes fine. I will try a protien shake later. Starting Wed I WILL fallow all the Lap-Band rules.....even if it kills me and I am starving. I'll just tell the doc I starved for 6 weeks.

    later!
  6. Walking on Sunshine

I've lost 16lbs and am in a very good mood. The scale wasn't budging for a few days and I felt like I was starving myself. I didn't feel hungry but I was eating ssssoooo little and the scale wasn't moving. Oh boy it did today.
    :whoo:
  7. Work

Went back to work last Saturday. It was ok....made me very tired. No one (that didn't already know) asked me why I was eating cottage cheese for lunch. All in all everything was fine....except for the terrible sinus headache that is making my teeth hurt.:sick
  8. Home

:faint:Home a day now. I feel like crap....crap crap crap! Co2 pain in my neck. And my left side is killing me...not lower pain like it's the port but higher...the other incision. I can't stand to take the pain medicine...yuck! So I just sleep.
  9. Waiting

    Oh my gosh!
I am so tired of waiting. I got my letter of approval fron insurance last week. Dr Minkin's office said they would call to schedule the surgery when they got theirs. I still have not heard anything from them. I just want a date. Because of gall bladder surgery this past summer and having some kind of summer influenza I used up all my time off from work so I have to wait to have the band until October when I have built up more time off. So I know I have to wait but having a date would be such a relief. I guess I like to plan things and without dates and deadlines I feel lost. I need something to occupy myself.
    :faint::omg:
  10. I am so excited!!!! I got my approval letter from my insurance company today. Now I just have to wait for Dr Minkin's office to get theirs. The schedule the surgery. I know I will have to wait until the middle of October because I need to let my vacation time build back up. So I should be banded by Halloween...YEAH!!!!! This will put everyone in the house on the same page. All adults banded. I am looking forward to being a better influance on my 9 year old daughter. That's all for now, maybe more later.

  11. July 20, 2007

We are Vicky and Caresa. Vicky was banded Sept 2006....not sure of the date, I will have to look it up. I, Caresa, had gall bladder removed 7/12/07 in prep for Banding. Pre-op testing scheduled for July 24. If recovery from the lap-band is like the lap chole it will be a breeze...all except the liquid diet part. That's what I am nervous about. Anyway my next appointment with Dr Minkin is Aug 6 at which time they will submit all info to the insurance company. Then wait two weeks for aproval...to be optomistic. So maybe my band date will be one year after Vicky's.
  12. One month since fill

Well it's been a month, right down to the day, since my last fill. I, without a doubt, have restriction. Sometime I think it might be to much but that might be because I have to follow the rules....I don't have a choice. I am rarely hungry and a very small amount of food fills me up. I have only lost 5lbs in this last month. I know...that's not bad...actually good but I know it could have been more if i moved more. Yeah, I need to exercise. I go back to the doc on 8/29 for a check up. I think I am going to ask him to look at my band under fluero to make sure it is ok. That's all for now.
