Thank you, Fran! Weather permitting we could walk during our gatherings at one of the many trails! The trail around Eastlake (128th & York) is about 1.75 miles. We could meet there until we find a location. I'll also check with my church at 120th & Lowell,
  4. This post was so timely and touching for me. I am heading into Spring Break tomorrow...four days alone, and have already been planning my secret runs to McDonalds, Krispy Kreme...I'm so ashamed. I truly feel like such a fraud...I had surgery June 18, 2013. Lost 19 PreOp and about 30-40 since then, depending on the day. Every single day people tell me how great I look, and I want to scream, "I have not lost one pound since Labor Day and I still can't get below 250 pounds!" I am so grateful for the 50-60 loss, but I am no where near finished, and there has not been one single binge-free day since then. I have tried counseling, support group, anti-depressants, and I cannot get this addiction under control!!! I will read your posts 24-7 if I have to to get back on track!!!

    Stuck since october

Went to a support group last week...someone who had surgery in October has lost 70 pounds; meanwhile, I had surgery in June and still weigh what I weighed on Labor Day. Only lost 30 since surgery, 49 overall. Not complaining, but I know why I'm not losing...I can (and do) eat anything and everything. Can't seem to quiet the cravings...

    First Mile in 40 Years

SW: 308 Day of Surgery: 289 06-18-13 Current: 255 I'm a slow loser...OA in both knees...debilitating for at least 10 years. Got knee injections a month ago. For the first time since high school I walked 1.25 miles today. Just loaded Map My Walk! Maybe adding this exercise will jump start my loss again after a month-log stall!

    Sleevers over age 55?

56-it took me a little longer than normal to overcome the anesthesia...couple extra hours in recovery, six weeks of attention & memory issues, but after 10+ weeks I'm back to my normal forgetfulness & word retrieval issues!
  9. The funniest remark (49 lbs. down) for me has been...what have you done to your face? I think she thought I had a facelift!! Said my face looked so sexy!! Hahahahaha!

    Colorado, anyone?

Dr. Frank Chae works with Kaiser patients in Denver...incredibly experienced, knowledgable, supportive; I can't speak highly enough of my experiences with him throughout this process.

    Salsa

I made it, liquified it in a Magic Bullet and ate it with everything...eggs, chicken, refried beans...so yummy and fresh!

    Food spoiling

So...I was sleeved day before you (06-18-13) and have been eating at least 1/2 personal watermelon every day for weeks...can't seem to get enough! I track it, but perhaps that's why you've lost 65 and I'm only at 40. Hmmm...

    Bathroom Help!

Thank you, VSG crew...enema partially resolved situation for now! It's true...worse than childbirth (or maybe just that I'm 31 years older). Eight hours later, I'm going to try to get some sleep; who knows what tomorrow will bring, as I have a feeling I'm not out of the woods yet! First stop out of the house...every source of fiber I can find! Thanks again!

    Bathroom Help!

Actually, went a little yesterday and a little more this morning, but knew there was more to come...thinking I might be getting my period?!? At six weeks out, and have been going about once a week, but NEVER this painful!

    My knees HURT!

Please post if you get answers from doctors; my appt. is next week! I am more hobbled than ever at 5 weeks and 40 pounds out! Can't even step off a curb!!!! Takes two people to get me into the backyard...sure did not expect THIS consequence!!! ???? HELP! ????
  20. I was sleeved June 18, and stopped taking Rx NSAID two weeks prior. Consequently, my mobility has been severely impacted; trying to negotiate steps without railings is impossible, as the knee pain when I try to bend them is sharp and intense. I know I need replacements, but have to get below 250...even though I've lost nearly 40, still have 20 to go, and cannot imagine another surgery so soon after the sleeve! Had been on daily indomethacin for 10 years! Anyone else have this experience?
  21. Mine was removed at one week follow up. Hated the inconvenience, but removal was painless.

    Liquid Diet

I survived on the little seasoning packets from the ramen packages dissolved in hot water. Just threw the noodles away! If I can manage, ANYONE can!!! You got this! ????

    NSV moment

Congratulations! I'm not there yet, but I was able to reach over into the glove box while buckled in the passenger seat! Before I would have to unbuckle, open the door and approach it sideways!
