I am hooked on Chobani FF Plain Greek Yogurt. I flavor it with either SF DaVinci or Torani Syrups, or Mio, Crystal Light or Dasani drops. The flavors are endless and you can make them sweet or not so sweet depending on your tastes. It's high in protein, and you're not adding any calories or carbs by flavoring it.

I took my dog for a walk around the block and felt like I'd ran a marathon. I had to take a nap. I would have thought by now I would walk a mile effortlessly. Recovery from VSG is not for sissies....

AmyInOrlando got a reaction from adargie in First official entry.....pre-op appt today and the awesome pre-op diet begins, thought I would write a few things down...
" My fatness......well my fatness goes back to one of my first memories going to the doctor for shots and the doctor saying I was overweight, no more apple juice or graham crackers, my mom was a health nut there was never anything unhealthy around. My mom pushed me hard and before you knew it I was sneaking food and hiding to eat. I could think of nothing else but food. I stayed overweight till college when waitressing for 12 hrs and aerobics class took over. Oh yeah and that stuff called ephedrine that was miracle for me. I prob at that point got to my lowest in years around 170-180 and was never aware that I was thinner. I still had the monkey on my back, and I am worried that will be my biggest thing to overcome as the weight comes off. The Fat girl mentality., I must admit, I have the whole self loathing problem, can't make eye contact with people in certain settings, avoid having pics taken. My poor husband, has dealt with me withdrawing from the bedroom due to this as well. I am done hiding!!!!" Adargie..... most of that paragraph could have been my story too. 7 years ago I lost 150 pounds, but when I looked in the mirror I still saw 272. The only thing that confirmed my weight loss was that I was wearing a petite size 4. Well... obviously that's no longer the case, as I'm having the surgery on Thursday after regaining half of that 150. Good luck with your surgery... you're right behind me.

It's all just as well...... Stay out of N'Awlins. I lived there for 8 years. It has the best food in the world. I don't know how I could live there post-op. Seriously though... they'll come around once they see you're healthy and happy. My surgery is one week from today also. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery, and a smooth and speedy recovery. PS... I really miss N.O. It's the most fun and friendliest place I've ever lived.

This is day 3 for me, and I've got to say I haven't been hungry at all. I had a slight headache last night, but 2 Tylenols took care of it. I've been shopping all day today and doing a lot of running around. I didn't feel tired though till I sat down at my computer. They say the first 3 days are the hardest. If that's the case, the next 10 days should be a breeze.

AmyInOrlando got a reaction from kw2walker in Ready, Set, GO!
I'm in the Ready, Set, Go mode myself. Time to get serious, as I've been eating like there is no tomorrow. I'm committing to myself and my fellow "sleevers" to begin my diet tomorrow. My plan is to do Weight Watcher's Points for 2 weeks, then start the pre-op liquids. My choice is HMR shakes. I drank them exclusively for 6 months (5 per day), and lost 100 pounds. Had I been able to keep the weight off I wouldn't be here today, but oh well... it is what it is, most of us have been there, done that, and have the T-shirts. The good news is.... This will be the LAST time I will have to lose this weight. I haven't been able to "diet" for a whole month without blowing it, so now that "cheating" is no longer an option, I should get a good jump start and hopefully I'll be under 200 lbs. by my surgery date. I'm only 5 feet tall, 60 years old, and a slow loser. My goal weight is 125. I CAN DO THIS !!!
