1. Thank you everyone for the great tips and warm welcome.

I'm still struggling with Fluid intake at 24 days out (had hernia repair too)

I feel so weak, still battling Constipation the past 5 days; I'm on colace and Miralax - had 1 runny bm but now My poop seems to be stuck and im in terrible pain

My phys asst says give it some time and increase my fluids (easier said than done)

She suggested a rectal suppository as well which freaks me out due to the pain I'm going through now with being stuck

I never suffered with constipation like this before and it's nooo fun I want to cry

I'm trying to chug my Water but its a slow go --- can't wait for all this to be a thing of the past

    Best wishes!

I think maybe u should go to ER. Is your belly distended? If it is then u have a blockage and need to go to hospital before it gets worse.

  2.
Any fellow school teachers out there? I'm beginning to get nervous about going back to work since it's taking me so long to eat a meal and we only have 30 min. to eat lunch. Also worried about keeping up with Water intake since it's pretty much impossible to go to restroom with a room full of first graders?

I am a teacher as well. I get an hour for lunch but with all of the changes this year in our state I have so much paperwork I hope I have the energy to teach and work with my students! I am a little nervous about going back as well!

  3.
Hi hang in there ,,its still so fresh for you.. It will get better I promise you. have you tried eggs or egg whites with some cheese,, make some ricotta cheese with sauce and mozzarella (noodle less lasagna) in the microwave ..some greek yogurt with honey drizzle ( not as sweet as fruit flavored).. its gonna be a bit of getting use to finding things that dont bother you for now... but later this wont be a problem... :P

Thanks eggs are not until my next stage. Thinking of going out and getting some baby food.

  4. Hi I am about 19 days out and am on puréed foods. I just feel like I should feel better than I do. I still get nausea but I have IBS and that is one of the symptoms I use to get. I have tried canned chicken with low fat mayo- didn't feel good after. I have tried refried Beans, green salsa-no good, cottage cheese-real bad, added chicken breast to refried beans and puréed no good. Getting frustrated!! Still drink Protein Shake every morning cause I know I need protein! Any suggestions? I am going to call NUT on Mon.

  5. Hi! I was sleeved on Dec 9th. My main focus on day 5 was staying hydrated. I found propel zero and it helped a lot. Also found out I am allergic to whey Protein so I use egg white Protein Powder. They do have an unflavored one but I couldn't find it at my Vitamin Shoppe. I also have an unflavored rice protein which I plan on adding to my food when I go to puréed stage. Hope some of this helps and u get better.

  6. Post op day 8. Felt better yesterday. Don't know if I am drinking too fast or not enough. Idk anyways hope to take my boys for a walk outside in the snow but they are napping right now. Using pain med only at night now. Going to have yogurt for dinner tonight instead of cream Soup. Will see how that goes. Hoping next Tuesday I can start purred food! Got some great recipes from this website!

  7. I was rushed to the hospital last night via ambulance after experiencing severe pain and nausea, in the middle of a snowstorm.

My blood pressure was 60/25 which I'm told is extremely dangerous. Pumped me with fluids and BP came up to 107/55.

Cat scan revealed bleeding and they are still not sure what's going on. May have more surgery. Pain is still pretty bad.

Oh no! Saying prayers for you!

    Carrie

  8.
Hi everyone! I am one week away (Dec 19th) from surgery. Looking at our list, I am still on my own! I have to say that I am not at all nervous about the actual surgery, but how I will feel immediately after. I think nausea is THE worst feeling in the world. I also have been known to end up back in the hospital after surgeries with severe dehydration. I already know that I will be in the hospital at least 2 days, so that makes me feel a little better, also, my husband will be staying with me to motivate me to walk, cough and deep breathe.
I did purchase a night gown since I don't normally wear one and was told I would be more comfortable without an elastic waist band. But, I am wondering if I should just stay in the hospital gown? Did anyone wear their own? and if so, did they get soiled?

I just wore the hospital gown the whole time!
