Camella reacted to jacee in 46 pounds lost, and wearing the same clothes?!?
Personally I was wearing clothes that really were too small for me, or stretchy pants. Just went through my closet this afternoon and cleared out things that are too big and had fun trying on things that fit again.

I felt terrible and could not have imagined doing anything much, so i'm always so envious when I hear of people feeling great a few days out. I had another major surgery a few years back and was on my feet in no time. As the others have said, it is hard to predict and everyone is different. I wish you a speedy recovery! :-)

Camella got a reaction from slimagainsoon in 19 Days Post-op & Constant Nausea
I am currently 19 days post-op and for the last 4 days or so I have had constant nausea. When I was pregnant I had really bad morning sickness, this feels very similar. Has anyone else experienced this? will it pass?

Totally normal! I became obsessed with thinking out it. I couldn't think of anything else and I was terrified. From what I understand, most people have varying degrees of feeling like this. Even the day of the surgery I was all gowned up and lying on the hospital bed thinking "what am I doing?" What helped me was trying to focus on the outcome. I would also do a lot of online "window shopping" just looking at clothes that I will one day be able to wear. Sounds pretty superficial but it helped. Good luck next Monday!

Lissa - so many things on my list too and crossing my legs like you too Kelli!
The other thing is actually realising that I actually have ribs! I knew they were in there somewhere!
Being able to move quicker and the feeling of lightness.
Very little joint pain these days - I found it difficult walking down hill let alone down stairs - now I don't even think about it being difficult!
People serve me in clothes shops!
People I don't know well take me more seriously - maybe this is just I radiate more confidence - I don't know really but it has changed
People now say things like "it is alright for people who are a tall and slim like you!" - I am still looking over my shoulder to see who they are talking to!
Finding myself browsing the self help diet book section in the book shop and then realising "I don't need these anymore!!!!"
Noticing how much television centres around weight! Ads, features, diets, food.... and on it goes. I never really noticed what a huge industry it is and many companies are peddling their latest drink, bar, detox, exercise machine, super food etc ect.

I can cross my legs!!! Still a thrill every time as I couldn't do it for last 15 years.
Great list Lissa and ditto to all of it. You are an inspiration.

Liss, that list is so like mine.
I can now go shopping and walk around without feeling like I need a break or a nap afterwards....Ditto, even better I actually enjoy when I do go clothes shopping, rather than just choosing what would cover me that didnt look like a mu-mu
I fit into my bathtub- again it now seems huge....how awesome is that, i slip all over mine now...so bizarre
I can shop in pretty much any store of my choosing ...Yep, including designer brands (of course I am still a cheapskate and buy designers from outlets or the US lol)
Professionally, I have had a promotion. I would never have even applied pre-surgery.
... well you do need more money to pay for all the new clothes and activities
I can sleep comfortably in a bed- I didn't sleep in a bed for years- slept in a recliner cause of back discomfort and breathing issues.
I can come away for work or on holiday and sleep in the bed- not have to ensure there was a couch so I could sleep sitting up.
I am no longer invisible. Pre-surgery people would "accidentally" run into me all the time like they couldn't see me. Honestly can't remember the last time it happened- certainly not since the surgery.
...Its funny how you mention the "invisible" things and people running into you....I so relate to that. I said that on my video and so many people (lifetime skinny people) could not understand it. I thought maybe it was just me that experienced that stuff
I am more flexible and feel strong for the first time in my adult memory.....Super Liss!!!!!
I am, for the first time in years, considering the possibility of a relationship.
I had written this off in my own head I think and didn't realise I had done it.
I can wear heels again.....super sexy legs..wait to summer, those men will be circiling you.
I can slide down a slide with my 8 year old nephew.....And dont forget the swing sets..lol
I can go on rides at theme parks etc without worrying they'll bounce me for being over the weight limit ....Add adventure activties here, apparently I am a thrill seeker now
I can fly... Without an extension belt....and sit in the seat and not touch anyone on either side
I have so much more energy!! Amen sista
Feeling sexy, weird feeling for me, but I feel curvy (atleast clothed...the plastics surgery will fix the unclothed part lol)
Looking forward to summer...I may even try a bikini (post plastics)...not sure the world or I am even ready for that
TMI...sex is better *embarassed look*...if I was in a relationship I would so be taking more advantage of that lol
I have more respect for myself, i expect more from myself and for myself.

I think it's helpful to remember why you did this. When I needed to restart my dedication over the last 3 weeks I googled articles related to childhood obesity. My biggest reason, among many, to get this surgery is so that I will learn healthy eating and cooking habits and pass them on to my 15 month old son. Being an overweight kid is hard and I don't want him to go through that.

Hi everyone! Just touching base.Day 13 and soon to start puree.Yippee! I have fought off another bout of the chest infection that my GP threatened to put me back into hospital for.Not loving the effects of the antibiotics but my sleeve seems fine.I can drink Water easily and don't have any nausea. My new best friend is a tspn of greek yoghurt if I get hungry.I try not to worry that I have hunger already as I am definitely filling up quickly on very little and Protein helps a lot.I don't think it helps that I am cooking and baking for my family as usual ! Thanks to everyone for their advice and support earlier.
Total weight lost since the op 4kg.
Total lost since first consult with Dr Mosse in April 14kg.

Hi Nikki, Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new myself and I am only 12 days post-op so I can't offer you a great deal of experience, but right up until my surgery I felt exactly the same way as you. I remember waking up from surgery and I was so surprised that I was still alive. I then had a complication and they had to operate on me again 36 hours later. I was then convinced that if I didn't die during the first surgery, I definitely would during the second. I'm pleased to say that didn't happen either. It's totally normal to feel this way! Pre and post op they monitor you very closely and they are very vigilant for any signs that something may not be quite right. As soon as they suspect that there may be a problem they act quickly. I'm sure you will be fine - it's also important that you have a lot of trust in your surgeon

Hi Sarah, When I was doing research on the sleeve I found a statistic that showed 25% of sleevers have a revision (in the long term) I questioned my surgeon and he said that this was because when they first began doing the sleeve they removed less stomach which for some people made the procedure less successful. The possible revisions were re-sleeving or revision to gastric bypass. Have you considered that as an option? I'm sorry to hear you are having issues health wise and personal (some people suck). Unfortunately I don't live in Melbourne or I would be happy to catch up. If I was in your shoes I would visit at least three surgeons and get their opinion before making any decisions.

Easy way my ass!! Sorry for the language but I became so fed up with that crap about it being the easy way out. I hardly think having more than half your stomach removed, eating less than 800 calories a day and aches and pains to make even the toughest man shed some tears is EASY!! What we did was save our lives and that my friend takes dedication and a strength no one outside of weight loss surgery will experience. The only thing that matters right now is your happiness and health and if they don't want to be on board with your happiness and health, to hell with them. Sorry but I went through the same thing with some people including my girl who couldn't handle the change and left me after 10 years but I love myself and I love that I will live longer and no one is going to take that from me. Good luck in your journey and know that you're not alone and we are here for you :-)

Best of luck!! I am only 9 days post-op so it's all very fresh for me. I also had complications and ended up having two surgeries within 36 hours. All that said - 9 days on I'm feeling 80% better and I have more and more energy each day. Just remember any pain or discomfort is temporary (really temporary). I'm sure you will be in good hands and if you every feel that something isn't quite right or you are feeling in more pain than you should tell someone! Soon you will be love getting on the scales each day!

Camella got a reaction from Karnie in Starting Pre-Op Diet today..why do i feel like I'm going to fail?
Hang in there! When I started my pre-op I thought it would be impossible and, doing it perfectly all the time was. Just do the best you can! The first few days are the hardest and then it gets easier. If you can just stay focused on the end goal (surgery) it makes it easier too. I just kept reminding myself "this is going to save my life". As I said it wasn't perfect and now that I am 8 days post-op and can't eat anything...I SO don't regret having a small piece of chocolate cheese cake for my birthday (2 days pre-op). If at all possible don't think of it as fail or success. Each day try to improve on the last. I hope that helps and doesn't sound too preachy. I know it's incredibly tough. This whole process is difficult but I;m sure you can do it!
