  1. Try jokes about wearing children's clothes, that pants dont go into negative sizes, kids underwear, shrinking away.
  2. How about stinky running shoes? Trying on too many clothes because you have so many choices now and spending money you shouldn't? LOL.
  3. That's what happened to me and another friend who was on TPN. I have gained some but it is Water weight from edema.
  4. I am so sorry to hear about the leaks and all here. My heart goes out to all of you. At the same time, thank you for your honesty in letting others know the situation. I don't think that this information needs to frighten people but to educate them into considerations and to be prepared for any issues.
  5. Jessi Rae I had the same thing but my surgeon accused me anorexia. It was easier to blame the patient. Everyone else knew it wasn't true. I had the HIDA scan done and it showed function of 12 and 11%. I lost a lot of weight quickly, the surgeon should have known that and didn't. Its not even documented that I had problems getting down the pills they give you for that. Long term complications? My surgeon doesn't follow them. That's why they don't discuss it. They dont want to learn about it either. My urgent care PCP and another surgeon figured out I was malnourished when the bariatric surgeon didn't. Months before.
  6. Williamsburg meeting? Before or after the tourist season?
  7. Thanks! Nah, I just rather give people the facts and then let them decide. I don't regret the surgery, I regret the surgeon and how that worked but I had GI issues before the surgery. I was within a week of getting hospitalized for gastroparesis before, so whatever. LOL.
  8. Hampton Roads area here.
  9. I appreciate everyone who is honest about complications. I think they need to be honest in how they're dealt with, and surgeons be rated on that. I've found others not to have a lot of experience dealing with the issues and they could use the help.
  10. Are they really comfortable?
  11. Hi Sleeve thanks for asking. No, malnutrition getting worse. Surgeon missed the gallbladder that everyone else caught. The insurance spoke to them and at least they got rid of the gallbladder. Missed also, my urgent care PCP caught the malnutrition issue first, then a plastic surgeon. The surgeon didn't, he said all was well, when things have gotten worse.
  12. Congratulations! My first sprint tri was in November of last year. I had a great time and hope you did also.
  13. How is everyone doing with this?
  14. Thank you - this is wonderful. I find it interesting, as the information I get is a little different. I think the problem is that the others go by weight and can do 40 some grams a day and be ok.
  15. Has any one had problems with excess skin at times when working out?
  16. We have a recipe section?
  17. Any one in Virginia?
  18. I agree on the issue of complications not being spoken of a lot. I think people need to be prepared. I know a good many people who aren't getting complications but that doesn't mean you go free. I never ever thought I would have what I did.
  19. Any one with malnutrition or other like issues after surgery?
  20. Everything above is true. I eat a lot but I eat roughly 5-6 servings of veggies (ok not a cup of each but you get the idea) and lean meats, no red meat (I can't eat it, doggone it), no fried foods, pizza, no McDonalds, etc.
  21. I'm 2.5 years out (almost) and yes it does get better. Not for me, but at least its less worse than in the beginning.
  22. I'd say because I've tried all that and it doesn't work. Stats show 90-95% of people can't lose like 10% of the weight and keep it off. You see people in the news that do it because it is so rare. The tool helps you, if you use the tool right.
