Venting About Poor Forum Etiquette
From what I understand, they don't teach cursive in many schools. Maybe they teach kids or kids learn to type and have autocorrect. That might explain some of the issues?

Sizes and more sizes!
I think its easier to give up on sizes, just make a rough approximation. Even among the same fitters, different styles, shapes, etc. Annoying.

Can I get a hug and maybe some guidance?
You owe yourself an answer. Not us. I'll support you, as will many others, no matter what you do.

Reversal for gastric sleeve?
I had the same problem with a doctor. Pompous doesn't begin to go there and being labelled when I'm looking for someone to help calm the new day new issue, it was just ridiculous. We can't change over here in this area. I'm hoping things are getting better for you. I actually didn't have as much problem until I started eating. It seemed like the connection between the brain and food/stomach/hunger was cut along with the stomach. I have no idea, I could look at food and it would be like looking at a chair. Thinking about food, the brain just like ... had no clue. If I tried to advance beyond a certain measure it was pain, so I ate little and only a few foods. I got harped on so badly, I'm associating all the nagging and fussing by the doctor (everyone else was like hey, fix her pain on eating, she'll be good). I can certainly understand how you feel.

How is everyone doing 3-5 years out?
Michigan Chic you got it right, being thankful is a huge part of this, no matter whether or not you have problems.

Freaking out a little
Oh my. Is there any way to verify? That's not good.

Biggest surprise/regrets after surgery?
Surgeon. His office staff (a few of them). Complications were one thing, but they turned out to be the bigger thorn.

I'm still thinner than what I was before the surgery. Glad to have you back and hope you stay.

My surgeon won't operate because I complained
Can you discuss the situation with him or with another doctor to get in?
-
Gastric sleeve , I'm so sick
Are they giving you anything for it? What about PPI's or H2's?

My surgeon won't operate because I complained
Why do you need a referral to go to another bariatric surgeon?

Herbalife after surgery
I would suggest using your tool, going back to basics. You do not describe your food/exercise habits. All I can suggest is to change what up what you are doing now and review the carb content in what you are eating. Include drinking with that.

Still Attend Support Group Meetings as a Vet?
Excellent! The fact remains that I learn more online from all various surgeries, all various lifestyles, all different choices, thanks to people who don't stay within the confines of what the surgeon's office dictates. There seem to be many choices that work for lots of people. I can see up to a year but after that, we are only there for them to survey and make $$$ off of while they don't have the big ticket surgery to work on. Plus, they are only using us as lab rats for the ASMBS's databases. Here you answer to no one and people can touch you and you be touched a lot more freely.

Still Attend Support Group Meetings as a Vet?
Most groups run by surgeons' simply aren't on the wavelength that the online groups are. There are more options you can learn from others, more wide range of experiences that can keep you fresh with new people and up with farther out people. Hands down, once you are past the honeymoon year/year & a half, online is the way to go. Most of the places don't want you telling newbies about regain, how hard it is after that time frame.

EXTREMELY low metabolism
You aren't, we all have to work at it after the honeymoon period. Just like a marriage, it takes a lot of work.

It's OK to get stoned, but not to lose weight.
Well, I've been posting at times URL's from educational sources about how bariatric surgery helps. I'd send them to a ton of them if we had that, to show it is worth the $$$.

Still Attend Support Group Meetings as a Vet?
That's what I see. You have a vet or two, but otherwise, its a newby thing. There is no true support outside of online forums, that are really useful after a year. Not being disrespectful but, heaven forbid they show the true meaning of people more than a year out. Some people would be thrown off, and maybe they should be.

Starting out at age 45? How common?
@Goatfarmer You guys ROCK! There is NO excuse not to get healthy at ANY age. Yeah! Love seeing people who "break the mold" and defy the conventions.

Payment rant: especially for those self pay/Mexico
With all the waste in medicine we could be paying for more people to have bariatric surgery, including those without insurance who have to go to Mexico because the prices out of pocket are too high in the USA. Shoot we could pay for their trips too. We could pay for some plastic surgery with all the waste in medicine. Makes me mad to know that people can't get surgery because of $$$.
