  1. I was shopping with my nine year old daughter and remembered to look for a small pillow. She asked why i needed such a small pillow. So i explained. She replied "mommy, you can take Rosie with you she always makes me feel better". I smiled and left the pillow behind. Rosie is her stuffed Teddy Bear that she has slept with since she was two.

  2. Hello there!!!

Today is my fist day of liquid pre-op diet' date=' I have read and seen so many videos of people struggling through the first days of liquid diet............... "NOW" I get it! hahahhhaha

My surgery day is July 4th 2013.

I'm almost done with day 1!!!

My menu so far has been:

Breakfast: vanilla Isopure with Water, 4 oz grape juice mixed with 2 cups Water.< /p>

    Middle morning: sugar free Jello

Lunch: 1 cup chicken broth, 4oz cranberry juice mixed with 2 cups water.

    Middle afternoon: sugar free Jello

Dinner: planning to have 1 cup of Isopure Zero Carb clear Protein and 1 cup of tea.

I guess the rest of my days will be similar, any ideas???[/quote']

Hello everyone!! Im set for surgery on July 17th and begin liquids on the 2nd. I'm excited about finally starting the journey and have been preparing for my turn on the losers bench.. I am having my mom and hubby do all the cooking for my family. It will be a long vacation for mommy. A well deserved vacation from cooking and housework. I think I deserve it. :) My doctor isn't allowing anything but Protein shakes, sugar free jello and sf popsicles. I can even have chicken broth.< /p>

  3. I am awaiting my date of surgery but the scheduler assumed it would be around the 15th. What all did you guys stock your pantry with' date=' and what supplies did you purchase to have on hand. I bought a new scale, food scale, and Isopure zero carb Protein powder. Along with some chicken, vegetable, and beef stock. What else should I do? Thanks and I'm SO ready to get this surgery scheduled and begin losing weight. I've turned into a hermit![/quote']

Oh ....your post just reminded me that I need a food scale!!! I am scheduled for 17th and have already stocked up on Protein and Vitamins.

  4. Hi everyone! My name is Carrie and I am new to the forums. I began my journey yesterday' date=' June 21st, which was Day #1 of my Pre-Op liquid diet. I did really well, except that I had a slight headache. Woke up this morning feeling pretty good and no headache yet. :-) I am scheduled for my VSG on Tuesday, June 25th. Any advice is welcome! Thank you.

I haven't been sleeved either but I do wish you success. :)

  5. Me too' date=' OMG! I never thought I wanted food so bad until 2 days ago. I'm on 4 shakes, broth, and Jello and popsicles. I just want some MEAT!!! LOL. I hope it gets better. 2 weeks seem so far away when you cant eat. Its like I'm going through food rehab. Ha[/quote']

I have begun prepping myself by stopping coffee, tea and cutting down carbs. I have even started sipping my Water in hopes to make my preop easier. I start preop on the 1st shakes n sf Jello. My nutritionist recommends i stay away from clear broth because it can trigger hunger for solid food.

  6. I am very serious about getting this procedure. I have talked to my husband and just inofrmed my mom of my decision yesterday' date=' but I'm not sure how much information is too much information for my kids. They are all old enough to realize that I am unhealthy, and I've contributed to them being unhealthy for years.. They are 10,12,16 and 17.

If anybody has advise on how much information I should share with them it would be so appreciated!! [/quote']

I have 11 & 9 year old girls. They are very mature girls and I sat with them along with my close family to explain my decision for wls. My situation is a little different in that I have to loose weight in order to quality for an organ transplant. So when I explained this to them they has many questions and I answered them as truthfully as possible. I have included them in all my food research, preps and even have had them learning to cook healthier. I'm very lucky to have such a supportive family.

  7. Hello All! I began my liquid diet today. I'll get sleeved 6/13. I really have a weird question but I'm gonna ask anyways. Could I have egg drop Soup? It's something that I love and I'm just too embarrassed to call and ask.

I called my nut today with this same question.. My taste buds prefer the salty than the sweet. I was told to stay away from the Soups because of the salt used in them. However, I suffer from hypertension. It may be different for you.

  8. I'm starting my liquid diet tomorrow' date=' and get sleeved on Monday.

I realized today is my last day to enjoy any food of any kind I want. I know that's sounds silly...and bad LOL But, it's true. So, while I was food shopping for my liquid stuff, I'm walking down the aisle's and thinking to myself how I probably won't be eating many of those things again. Then I started to get depressed :( Is that bad? I'm mourning my food already! LOL When I think about it logically it sounds silly to me, but I can't help how I feel.

Is anyone else going through this too?[/quote']

I will be sleeved come July 16th. I also began to count down the days until I have to start my preop diet. I kept thinking of all the foods I will not be able to enjoy any longer and thought I should take advantage of the days I have left. However, I then thought ....why? I have made the choice to consume healthier foods as a kick start to my new life choices. :)
