Big drop in weight can increase risk for gall stiones
Beach Lover replied to BlessedBeyondMeasure2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's an easier surgery than the sleeve. Hang in there.......the relief is worth the surgery. I had mine removed a couple of years before my sleeve. Wish you the best of recoveries!! -
Sleeved Saturday: update
Beach Lover replied to Ahealthyme2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on your sleeve!! So glad everything is going well! -
I would suggest you google it. It is very easy to do but the timing is important!
-
Sounds like you are having a great recovery! Glad to hear you are doing so well!

Fantastic!! You must feel absolutely terrific!!

I am 52 and I am going through this as well. I can't believe they told you you couldn't lose anymore weight because of this. There are woman on here who are completely done and through menoupause that are losing weight. Have you tried the pouch diet or just gone straight back to liquids for maybe a week to detox from the carbs. Then you can start back with lean meat and veggies and very little carbs? Just a suggestion! I hope it all works out for you!!

I understand your feeling lost. Sometimes trying to figure out what you want to eat can drive a person crazy. You have to get inventive sometimes to keep food interesting. This requires looking at recipes etc. and unless you are into that type of thing it can drive a person crazy and feeling lost or unmotivated can be a definite outcome. Have you gone to www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com or www.skinnytaste.com both of those can give you some ideas. I hope this helps!!

When I read about people eating uncooked ramen all I could think of is what happens to birds when they eat uncooked rice!! Definitely not a good outcome!!!
-
I didn't. Liquids slide through to quickly all on there own.

You can't eat very much. What you mean is I thought I wouldn't eat these things anymore. Your sleeve is an excellent tool to be used with good food choices. I am not trying to be mean because I am sure there will be a day when I don't make a great choice. But we have to be stronger than our old habits. I would lay odds when you ate the first wrong choice you were feeling bad about it and said okay I already screwed this day up so I might as well eat something else. We have all been down this path and you did the right thing talking to all of us about it. Just begin anew tomorrow and reflect on what caused you to eat the things that you ate. Don't beat yourself up because that is self defeating and will lead to more bad choices. You are worth good food choices despite what it was that made you do it. I truly wish you the very best and I hope your day tomorrow will be better!! Hang in there!!

7 Weeks Out....Very Good Day!
Beach Lover replied to mrs.petethecat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Way to go!! A definite improvement in your life and many more to come!! -
Week 2 I started with sauteed spinach and went real well. It was pretty soft and then I moved to salad and chewed really really good. This too went well and just tried one at a time. That is what I suggest that you just start off with something soft and then try one at a time.

Help i have stopped losing weight
Beach Lover replied to Pink Dragoness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 6 weeks I was eating anything I wanted. However, I have stayed away from the bad carbs. You will continue to lose weight it's just a stall. It might seem easy to say this but I know it messes with your head. Just hang in there and try increasing your exercise that is what my doctor told me to do when this hit. For the last 4 days I have stayed the same and I guess I need to listen to my own advice! Good luck to you and hold the faith!! -

Surgery Tomorrow...Fears
Beach Lover replied to Tjohnson322's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had to leave the room if it got to bad. Your surgery is tomorrow and the feeling of hunger will be a thing of the past. Your fear of tomorrow is very normal and after the surgery you will ask yourself what the heck did I do to myself.......That to is normal. When you get home prepare yourself for the head hunger that will drive you crazy. I promise it does get better and you will overcome it. Tomorrow is the beginning of the rest of your life one that will rival what you have been living. You can't believe how wonderful it feels to have the weight come off. Prayers will be sent your way!! Good luck and keep us posted once you feel better! Don't forget to ask for the flavored sponges from the nurse when you get to your room! They really help with hydrating your lips and mouth! -
3 weeks out and hungry
Beach Lover replied to tanya811's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking an acid reducer? Sometimes it feels like hunger and it really isn't but the acid reducer helps greatly. Also, have you gone through the head hunger ordeal yet? -

$400 Million Dollars?
Beach Lover commented on SigmaChefSpe's blog entry in On the Path to Enlightenment
My uncle won 4.8 million and invested it. They are still living off of it to this day. I think I would pay off my home, set up trusts for my children, Set up a spectacular vacation home, take care of a few loved ones and invest the rest. Alas I don't buy the darn things so I guess it will never happen! Oh well, you can't take it with you so I will be happy with what the Good Lord has blessed me with. -
Still waiting to hear what the dots mean?
