  1. HI Y'all,I wanted to do some research with REAL people instead of reading about it in some report. I'm wondering how much weight (IF ANY) you have gained since being sleeved. I go up between 1-3 lbs. so my answer would be 1-5 lbs. I'm curious to see how this goes. Thanks!

I have gotten down to 154 but, since the holidays are here, I'm up to 157- 160. So I'd say I'm in the 1-5 range. Not too bad but, enough to notice it...

  2. I had the hiccups when I was in the hospital so bad, but luckily for me they disappeared rather quickly... The nurses didn't seem to be to concerned as this is something that some patients go through... It is hard to get in 64 oz of liquids this soon out of surgery but do concentrate on those Clear Liquids so you don't wind up in the hospital 2 days after surgery due to dehydration like I did, it was awful!!! Walk, walk, walk as much as possible and sip, sip, sip as well. This is so very important this soon after operation!!! Cannot stress it enough!!! Good luck and be patient with yourself...

  3. Hello GameGirl,

I am glad to see that you and I are feeling the same way... My advise to you for all of this is quite simple... Just don't worry about it... Keep on keeping on and learn to love your new self as you change whether it's slower than you want... Keep getting in your Protein first and keep hydrated... It is a new lifestyle for us and we have to just go with it... Like with any new toy, the fascination wears off... Focus on yourself and why you have decided to change your lifestyle... And think if you never had the sleeve done, you would be miserable because of the excess weight you're carrying around... Let's be happy we get to live another day thinner and healthier than we were in the past... I am everything you described I just choose not to let it bother me and be grateful for my health...

  4. Like you, I had been researching the difference between the sleeve and the band. I have had the sleeve for 3 months now and it is a God's send!!! I cannot stuff myself like I used to before and if I do, I am very uncomfortable!!! I have stuffed myself a few more times since then but, I am getting better at understanding when I'm thirsty or hungry. Your stomach doesn't growl like it used to (at least mine doesn't) because that hormone Ghrelin is no longer there to tell you your hungry. It's a learning process but, one that gets better as time passes by...

  5. My engine has stalled. Ok maybe not my engine but certainly my weight loss. I am three weeks post surgery and this is my first stall with weight loss. I have been stuck for four days and am curious when these occur' date=' how long might I expect before my body wakes up and says, oh yeah, I am on a mission to lose weight and start do just that? I have increased my Water and exercise so I am now open to thoughts. No I have not called my physicians office, I figure they have far more important things to do than answer such questions.[/quote']

You are 3 weeks out and you should be taking in Protein, protein, protein. As shakes and plain Protein Powder in your broths and Soups. Protein is very necessary for your body to heal your small stomach and protein keeps you fuller longer. I had a stall for a week and up my protein and I'm losing again. Be sure your taking your Vitamins every day.

    Good luck to you

  6. It's not meant to harm or offened anyone' date=' and I wasn't being funny......its not gross, its just a long tube with a bulb at the end.someone may want to see one that never seen one.....because I haven't until I seen mines.....you can just imagine what people want to see on pictures out curiosity....I myself searched many things on google that I want to see such as people that have plastic surgery, before and after weight loss surgery etc... :)[/quote']I'm curious as to what it looks like

  7. I'm in the ER...I popped my stitches where my drain is. Not painful at all...somewhat a relief because everytime I bumped or accidentally hit the drain' date=' it hurt like hell! I'm also having alot of pain where my iv was and that actually started yesterday. Oh and btw I loss 12lbs since surgery 9/25. And 10 for pre op. 22lbs in 3weeks! :)[/quote']congrats on your loss, sorry for you to be back because of your drain. Hope you get to feeling better.

  8. I'm only 4 days out. I'm gonna try the mushy stage tomorrow. If I can handle it...I'm sticking to it. I'd rather eat regular bland for vs. another Protein Shake right now. I'll drink the Protein flavored waters' date=' but "NO MORE PROTEIN SHAKES". Lol[/quote']

Please be careful transitioning to mushy. I'm advising you to talk to your doctor first about the protein. Your only 4 days out, I'm 8 days and I'm still on liquids for 6 more days. You can add plain Protein Powder to your broths and be getting that in. Try drinking things warm, cool, and cold to see what helps you get it down. Please be aware your tummy has been through a lot and may not be ready to handle soft/mushy foods yet. Talk to your doctor please!.........

  9. Congrats to all the newbies' date=' and I would first all like to apologize to anyone I have offended. I did not mean it to come across that way. I type in caps to emphasis, not yell, I know how important this surgery is to all. I was a stroke victim waiting to happen, my PCP even told me that I was being Pro active by having this surgery. I had the surgery 4 months after my mom passed away from you guessed it .... strokes. .... I wish you all the best and success....[/quote']

I never took your posts as yelling nor have I felt offended by your posts as you are being a big brother/sister to us. Emphasizing on the importance of our health with the sleeve. Thank you for the love you spread to us.
