  1. Wow! I want this surgery to help my knees not hurt!! If you find what this unusual phenomena is, please post.
  2. I'm so sorry you had to go through that
  3. Susan at My Surgery Options saved my surgery at the last minute!! I did not have to change my date or destination and I ended up with a better surgeon
  4. Do Not Use Placidway!! No Name surgeons and the coordinators flake on you.
  5. You should get started right away because they take a couple weeks to kick in. My surgeon asked me to taper off one of my antidepressants for the surgery. Truthfully, I may miss about 5 days of my normal medications, but i'll get right back on them as soon as I can take them.
  6. Wow! In 10 wks - that is great!!
  7. Yes, Mexico was a great choice! You look fantastic!! Congrats!
  8. What did your Drs post-op instructions say - depending on your surgeon - the suggestions above may not be right
  9. Remind me of this next week when 85% of my stomach is gone and i'm wondering why on earth I ever thought this was a good idea!
  10. What does your daughter say?? I know girls mature faster than boys, but it's your fear of your daughter's treatment at the new school that's driving you. You need to go to a counselor with her. This is a big thing for an adult to wrap my head around. If you want it for you that's fine.
  11. My surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet if your BMI is less than 40. I will need to fast while I am flying in - but was told to bring a protein bar for after the testing. Then, I can have dinner, and start the surgical fast at 10pm. Of course I have to remember to change my watch to PST.
  12. Consignment stores, thrift shops, Goodwill, or clearance rack - these are all good choices - just get enough to get you through the work-week and donate your big clothes. One of the fun things about this surgery is that you quickly change - celebrate your change !!
  13. I'm happy to hear that you're doing well, mine is next Tues and I am just so ready to get the surgery over. I want to recover and get on with my life
  14. I have to suggest Mexico as well - I got to pick my date - July 30th, Tues.
  15. You can try Milk of Magnesia 1X per day, and a stool softener, because the longer it doesn't happen the harder it is
  16. Happy to hear you're feeling better
  17. There is a band to sleeve revision section in forums. When I inquired about the band, I was told by 3 Drs. that the bands were not a good thing, and that the sleeve was the way to go. I'm sorry you've had such an ordeal.
  18. As someone who felt she had to match her naturally thin hubby plate for plate. Please pat yourself on the back, I don't think I could have done that, at least not without being passive aggressive.
  19. That is awful, but probably should be expected. Another way to die from obesity. They have a witness that said she asked about being buckled in right, and the attendant blew her off. I know I should be appalled at the idea that they are blaming the victim - I know they would nothave tried to blame a thin woman.
  20. Photos!! Or, how I found out I was huge!! I suppose I need to do before and after, so that I can visit "her" to remind me where I was.
  21. That's my secret too, I bake, then I give it away!!
  22. I too believe in pain killers - if I hurt the day I leave the hospital to fly home, you bet i'll be insisting on liquid Vicodin!!
