  1. I am assuming you're doing this in Mexico. Does the surgeon know how long your return trip is going to be? If they know that you're travelling - I would think that since you're staying for 10 days - that you would be OK to fly back. I would call the airline and see if you can't be met at your flight with a wheelchair to get to your next gate, and through security? I think you can fly home, I can't imagine you would be all that comfortable.
  2. I am so happy you could fit in that suit!!! And your face does really show your weight loss! Your doing great!!
  3. I don't think that LOTS of people gain the weight back - but these nurses see many more people and I will say that my therapist said the same thing. She and I have been "fighting" about this surgery for 3 weeks. Most of the problem is lack of education about the sleeve procedure. What I don't understand is the assumption that the majority of WLS patients gain the wait back. I really don't think that's true. Of course the more she fights me on this - the more I dig my heels in and am determined to have this surgery. She even told me that if she were in charge of my Psych eval., she would tell them to deny me. I'm going to Mexico, so it's not an issue but, I can't believe she said that.
  4. This is a really long time to be on this diet - but it's great training for the sleeve. Just do the best you can - I think between the insurance and the surgeon, this is a test to see if you can be compliant with the new way of life.

    Judging...

My surgery is in 20 days and I have been back and forth between "what the hell am I doing" and "it will be the best thing i'll ever do for myself. I think it's normal - now i'm just worried about the anxiety with the travel.
  6. Sending "thumbs up" for your sleeve approval!!
  7. Am glad that you shared your RX with us - I don't expect my PCP to know alot about weight loss surgery - since i'm having surgery in Mexico - my PCP is taking care of me post-op.

Back From Vacay....Now the trip begins

It's nice to hear another person who feels that their life with food will not be "over" after surgery.
  9. Congratulations Mark!!!

    anyone care to dance

Glad to hear it - but you'll go back and forth - and it's all OK - Break-ups are just hard - but you have the upper hand here, because you know now, that when you take care of yourself good things will happen. Enjoy the good days and soon everyday will be a good day!!!
  11. That is an impressive list!! Way to go!!!
  12. Never stepped foot in a Banana Republic - I don't think they carry "fat girl clothes" - This article shows how gullible we all are - if the "survey says" well by God it's gotta be true. Love your new profile pic!!

    Extreme Nausea

Talk to your PCP or your surgeon - it can probably be easily corrected. But you've got to let your professionals know

    Pity Party of 1

I do not have a long post-op diet plan. I quit smoking 3 weeks ago and have gained 10lbs. God knows how fast we can all put weight on, and I have just been eating with abandon. You are also not the only ones to avoid family gatherings and cameras. I always dread them - but I push myself to go because the bottom line is they are my family. Make sure you go to see them in December. Your family loves you and wants to see you and your daughter no matter what you weigh!!

Second week post op and into the third

I am so glad that you just followed instructions. I have been told that if I follow my surgeon's instructions to the letter, that I will be fine. Why is that so hard??
  16. No! You are not alone I have doubts every other day, and on the days I don't have doubts, someone else in my life has them. What I have found, is that when I talk to the other people having doubts, I end up reassuring myself that i'm doing the right thing.
  17. I am so happy to hear that your fears were unfounded. Not everyone is that lucky - so I will just expect anything and everything. I think I will be more afraid as everything gets closer. Have you tried any Isopure or Mio water additives. The Isopure is 40g protein in 20oz - nd the Mio has no calories

    my second try

I'm sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. Since that surgery was open, open is so much more painful, and I too am a wuss when it comes to pain. I cannot imagine the pain would be anywhere near with laparoscopic surgery. Good Luck!!

    Naw'lins!

See, you don't have to blow off your new way of eating - I think I would miss the copious amount of alcohol more.

A weight loss drug after Weight Loss Surgery?? It never even occurred to me that you could.
  21. I think it's great that you're having this at your age. Now you get to live your life with good eating habits and you'll feel better and be happier!!

A woman after my own heart, I really don't like to cook, so Panera and Boston Market, etc sound good to me!!
