I'm doing rather well. I had a hiatal hernia repair during the sleeve surgery. My left side hurts still, but not as bad as day 2 unless I cough. Coughing makes me feel like someone is hitting my ribs with a baseball bat. The gas is pretty much gone. My surgeon allows me to eat soft foods, but she said to make sure that I get the Water and Protein in by the end of the day. I weighed 262 the day of surgery and today I weigh 247. I have enough energy until about 6 to 7 at night. I start getting super tired by then. I'm rather happy right now.
I do have a few questions:
1 - Everyone says to walk, walk, walk. How much are we talking? 15 minutes several times a day? 3 miles a day?
2 - Anyone who had the hiatal hernia repair with the sleeve, did you find that you were still hurting a little on the left side after 15 days?
3 - I feel my weight loss is slow. Does it seems that way?
4 - How long did you wait to go to the gym?

I know you are! Just hang in there, this is literally the hardest part! You can do this!!! Just drink and walk and get your mind off of it as much as you can! It wont be long! You can do it!

I have the Bullet and love it. Use it 3 to 4 times a day. Hubby uses it too.

@gmanbat thanks I agree with the "if losing weight was easy" part. @Kygirlkeshia I am a few pounds below my starting, so hopefully my insurance won't deny me. @proudgrammy Thanks for the virtual tissue and pep talk. I needed it. @zoftig I just wanted to make a good first impression and so many people judge us by our looks. I am about to start (Aunt Flo) and I hope my doctor understands that. I try not to let my weight define who I am, but it's just a tough area for me to overcome. --- Thanks Everyone!!!

I have UHC with Bariatric Resources. I have the direct line to my nurse and have reach her three times without issues. She told me that she would call me again at the end of August because I will have only one more weigh in at that point. She said she would call to see how I was doing. It's so weird how different people have different experiences. I do know that my job decided what the requirements would be. So my requirements are 6 months (6 visits once a month over the next 6 months) of supervised diet, Psychological Evaluation, Body mass index (BMI) must be at least 35-39.9 with at least one obesity-related medical condition (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea) OR over 40. <== (I'm the 40+ part). Now I did have to pick a doctor that they listed and meet the doctor's requirements. I've heard great things from most everyone who has this type of insurance. Best of luck!

I feel the same way that you do. I feel skinny until I see pictures of myself or se myself in a mirror. But that is why I'm having this surgery so that the me on the inside matches me on the outside.

I'm 40 BMI. I gain weight evenly and because of it, people think I don't need the surgery. I feel I do because I know that my body is starting to suffer from my weight. It's a choice that I'm making. You have to make the choice or the tool that it is will fail you. I think everyone here would say that it's a great choice. I'm doing it because I feel the same, but it is your choice.

I agree with the Water. I was told to get my water first, then Protein, etc. Maybe you are getting dehydrated. I don't know. I do hope you feel better soon.

I'm 5'8" and I weigh 270ish ... they set my goal weight to 150. I guess each doctor is just different.

I still have roughly 60 days. I've been reading several post from people who said they were having doubts. I couldn't understand why they would doubt. I'm so ready for this. Then yesterday I was laying in bed thinking, "Wow ... only 60 days left until I start my two week liquid diet...Wait...why is my heart racing all of a sudden? Oh ... what am I doing? Do I really want to do this? OMG...I thought those people were crazy and here I am." I do want to have this surgery, but the closer it gets, the nervous feelings and doubt are creeping in. I do want this and I will go through with it, but WOW ... that was sure a wake up moment for me. I can now say that I understand.

My last 6 month appointment is Sept too! Not long!!!

I chose the sleeve because my doctor said she strongly suggested that no one ever get the band again. There has even been talk of it being taken off the market because of the failure rate.

I know what you mean! They hurried to get all the preop done and now I have to wait roughly a little over two months. :/

I'm currently the same size as you. I know that I will have to have this done after my surgery. Thanks for sharing and I really hope they don't take it down because I know other women will want to hear and see the results. You do look awesome thanks!
