  1. Brief Story: I weighed 275 when I started the 6 month Supervised Diet Visits. I got down to 262 the day of surgery which was Oct 28th. I weight 242.5 today. I have been 242.5 since Nov 18 and the scale will not move. I started tracking my Protein and calories a week ago in Sparkpeople. I get 60 to 65 grams of Protein a day. I'm drinking 50+ oz of Water a day. I'm getting 600 to 800 calories a day. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I exercise 30 to 45 minutes a day at least 5 days a week. I feel like the biggest failure. I've heard of 1 week stalls, maybe 2, but I'm going on a 3 week stall. Is this normal? My next doctor's appointment is Dec 18th. I can't believe that I'm failing at this too. I didn't think I would, but it feels now like I am.
  2. I'm so frustrated and discouraged. My hubby said this probably wouldn't work and I'm starting to believe him. I drink 60 ounces of crystal light water, 60 ounces of protein and walking 45 minutes a day. I've been 244 now for 1 1/2 weeks. I haven't measure yet because I don't have a tape measure... ugh!
  3. I'm really trying, but I guess I just thought I would lose 1 pound in 1 week, but nothing. I'm trying not to cry and be upset, but I am.
  4. I'm doing rather well. I had a hiatal hernia repair during the sleeve surgery. My left side hurts still, but not as bad as day 2 unless I cough. Coughing makes me feel like someone is hitting my ribs with a baseball bat. The gas is pretty much gone. My surgeon allows me to eat soft foods, but she said to make sure that I get the Water and Protein in by the end of the day. I weighed 262 the day of surgery and today I weigh 247. I have enough energy until about 6 to 7 at night. I start getting super tired by then. I'm rather happy right now. I do have a few questions: 1 - Everyone says to walk, walk, walk. How much are we talking? 15 minutes several times a day? 3 miles a day? 2 - Anyone who had the hiatal hernia repair with the sleeve, did you find that you were still hurting a little on the left side after 15 days? 3 - I feel my weight loss is slow. Does it seems that way? 4 - How long did you wait to go to the gym?
  5. I would say that I'm doing pretty well. I do have a few questions. 1) When does your body stop producing so much gas in your belly? I wake up after sleeping for a few hours and my stomach is full of gas which is the primary reason behind any pain that I’m feeling. 2) The only pain that I feel that isn’t from the gas is on my left side. How long does it take to go away? I know that everyone is different so what may be a quick heal time for one person may not be for another. I just wanted some feedback. I also wanted to say that if anyone uses Baylor Regional in Plano, they have the best staff. I felt at home. I've been in several hospitals and had some pretty rude nurses, but Baylor Regional in Plano Texas didn't have a single rude nurse. One nurse had the surgery and told me to make sure to wear the strap that goes around your stomach because it will keep the pain down. She was right. It's been a life saver for me. Another nurse felt like a long lost friend. She was so nice.
  6. How is that going to work? Do I need to bring pads or tampons or will they supply? What about during surgery? UGH ... this couldn't have come at a worse time.
  7. Thanks Shells_Almost_There ... I'll make sure that I tell them.
  8. Thanks! I love the picture with the fangs.
  9. Today I am on clear liquid only. It's rough, but then the liquid diet is rough pre surgery. I am ready for tomorrow. I hope I can sleep tonight. I'm so drained right now. Laying in bed and watching movies mostly. I don't plan on taking much since the doctor said that I should be in the hospital for 1 night. I figured I would spend most of the time sleeping or walking. We have four kids so hubby will drop me off at 6 am then run home to get the kids ready for school. I told him he didn't have to come back until after the kids are out of school. I figure the drive back and forth was senseless.
  10. I'm so freakin hungry! It's so hard to survive on this. I'm tired, light headed, and hungry. I need strength.
  11. Yes...evenlopes sounds good right now. best of luck to you as well.
  12. I had over 6 months knowing this time would come. I thought ... no problem ... this is seriously rough. Things I never ever crave, I see my kids eating and I want to lick the bowl. Just to have the taste. This is insane. I know I'll be happy 6 months from now, but now ... UGH!!!
  13. Hi I decided about three months ago that I wanted to have WLS. So, of course, I have to go through the 6 months of supervised diets. My last weigh in will be September 15. I figure it will take at least two weeks to get my surgery date which should put it around the first of October. So ... who else plans on having an October 2013 surgery date?
  14. Hello! I've finally been approved and my sleeve date is Oct 28th. I'm so excited. I start my two week liquid diet on the 14th of Oct. Just wanted to start a thread for all of us to talk. Anyone else around this date?

    Freaking out

I believe it's normal to be scared. It's surgery, there are risk. I have two coworkers, one who had the surgery and she is doing wonderful. The other coworker is having hers in Dec, but her husband had his during the summer and he is doing wonderful. If you follow everything your dr said to do, you should be wonderful too!
  21. I have united health care, but your work can decide on the requirements and they don't require a 5 year history. I know this doesn't help, but I know of several who had to show 5 years of being above a certain BMI.

    Ninja vs. Nutra Bullet

My Bullet crushes ice and makes my shake almost like ice cream. I wonder if it's the year you bought it because mine does everything a ninja does. I have had both and love my bullet so much more.

I have the Bullet and love it. Use it 3 to 4 times a day. Hubby uses it too.
