"Life hacks" to manage loose skin?

Does this actually help tighten your skin or just help to hold you in? I was looking to get one either way but was curious. It doesn't do anything for tightening. But it does wonders for holding it in and preventing rubbing.
  2. (First off, please excuse me if this exists already. I tried to search for my answer before posting, but no luck.) So, I'm a little over a year and a half out. I recently attempted the 5 Day Pouch Test and found that I am now intolerant of whey-based Protein powders. I'd like to give the vegan powders a try, but they are so much more pricey. Have any of you tried some that you would recommend? (Also, had any success with 5DPT?) Thanks to all for your response ????????

    Getting sleeved tomorrow!

Welcome to this side! Long road ahead, but take it one sip, one bite, one day at a time. You got this!
  4. I had my gal bladder removed at 6 months post op. I'd had many attacks for the months preceding but they seems to always tie in with bad food choices (like one French fry or a few m&m's one day). The night before surgery the pain got so bad that I made my husband take me to the ER. I thought my pouch had opened up or sow thing. They knew within 3 hours what was up and I had it removed the next day. Glad that's over now!!

    I used to fit these.

    Wow, that's amazing! Great job.
  9. I was sleeved 9/11/13. I lost 135 pounds in the first 10 months and then I gave up until 8 days ago. I fell off track, grazed, did a lot of things I was told to avoid and gained back 11 pounds in the process. I am now back on track, following all the guidelines and exercising again. I was feeling really crappy and totally fat until I came across this gem (before photo). It made me run upstairs and take a pic of myself right now for comparison! I've got 50-60 pounds to go, but in this moment I know it's possible. (5'9", SW 350 CW 226)

    5k PR

This wasn't addressed to me but I can answer with a resounding YES!!! Try the couch to 5k program. It's all over the Internet and there are lots of apps (I used get running). It has you do walk/run intervals and build your way up. When I started I thought I was gonna DIE running 20 seconds. But just push through. Repeat days or weeks if you need to to feel more comfortable. I did couch to 5k about 15 months ago and just ran my first FULL marathon Sunday. Ran the whole 26.2 miles! I was never a runner--heck in HS I was one of the girls walking and chatting at the back of the pack in PE. If I can do it you can!!' I also started with the c25k program. I took it very slow. I also found that running outside was a much better option for me. I pushed myself further and further each time. I keep looking back on where I was and it hasnt even been a year since I started running. I am signed up for my 1st half marathon in july and have not ever felt this healthy or strong in my entire life. Good luck to you and hopefully you can post one of these pics someday!!! I plan to be doing just that!
  11. I wish someone would have grabbed me by the shoulders and said: THIS IS STOMACH SURGERY, NOT BRAIN SURGERY! Those chips, popcorn, crackers and Cookies.. You'll be able to eat aaaalll you want after surgery. No problem. (So be aware that "slider foods" are real!) Follow all the rules your doctor gives you. Try your hardest to not deviate even with one bite! I wish you luck and success on your journey

Congratulations! That's an amazing accomplishment. I'm struggling right now with running. I can only make it like 20 ft at a time. Did you start this way? How did you build up to this if you don't mind me asking?

"Life hacks" to manage loose skin?

I've taken to wearing a WYOB (wear your own bra) girdle thing from Flexees. It's a miracle worker! I tuck it right under my overhang and it stays put all day. It also makes me look a little less lumpy. I have no rash, itch or discoloration under my belly. Hope this helps!
  15. You are rocking it girl! You look amazing. How do you stay motivated to work out so much? I can't seem to get into a groove and I keep skipping workouts :/
