I just got the call with a date! July 1st!! Ahhhhh...it makes it all real! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. I'm excited' date=' anxious, etcSo here's my next dilemma. That is exactly 2 months before my wedding! So I'm trying to decide for sure if I want to have the surgery now or wait until late October. I don't mind the limited food/drink but want to feel physically good on my wedding day, not tired, weak, etc. Obviously there is always a chance for complications.
I wanted to get the thoughts of my Indiana peeps!! Let me know what you think!?[/quote']
Stacy03, I would say "go for it"!! I am excited for you! That is right around the corner.

You look amazing! This is very inspirational! I have the same frame, height and starting weight so hoping to have similar results!! Thank you for sharing

Is it this Tuesday? I was thinking it was the 2nd Tuesday of the month. I'll be out of town for work so won't be able to make it. I'm planning on going to a group this month but just not sure which one. Thought it would be nice to see a friendly face <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.
They have it the 1st and 2nd Tuesday of each month. I will see if I can rearrange to go next week instead

Are you going to a support group at St V's Carmel this month?
Yes. I plan to be there Tuesday eve. Are you going this month?
-
I would assume you'd get it this week <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. I know how you feel! I'm trying to be patient myself but am ready now lol.
stacy03, any news on your surgery date? I finally received my letter yesterday with my pre-op testing (june 12) and H&P (June 21).
-
Newme- I understand how you feel...there is a lot of waiting. I received my pre-op testing letter about 1.5 weeks after they received the approval letter from the ins. That was about 2 weeks after I received verbal approval from the ins company. What day did you receive ur approval? With the holiday yesterday maybe that slowed everything a little. I have my final pre-op appt on Monday the 3rd so wondering how long it will be for a date.
I received my verbal approval on the 17th, and my actual approval letter the next day on the 18th. I guess when I look at it that way, it has just been a full business week. Lol. I can't help but be excited to move forward

Fellow Carmel St. Vincent Sleever's... It has been almost 2 weeks since I received the insurance approval confirmation from the Surgeons office, but I have yet to receive my letter with my pre-op scheduling. How long did it take for you to hear back? I am trying not to be impatient, but I was hoping to hear by now.

I told one. This one is going to the grave with me. People can be mean' date=' intentionally & unintentionally. My advice is to tell no one...once you tell someone...it's out there, you can't take it back...
Best of luck to you. Do what you feel is best for you & your life.[/quote']
I have only shared with my fiancé. No one else knows.

Congrats on the loss! I wonder why people gain back while in the hospital?
I have been told its all the IV liquids we are pumped with, along with body retaining fluids during swelling after the procedure.

Do you have a 5000 dr copay? I have BCBS TRS Active Care and am reading it will be a 5000 copay' date=' 50 office visit, 150/day hospital stay, 150/outpatient test (endoscopy, stress test etc) plus 20% of surgery costs. This seems excessive to me, just wondering if you have the same?[/quote']
Mine is a 1200 deductible, 80/20 coverage with a $5050 annual out of pocket max. Since I know the procedure with everything will be high, I am counting on paying the $5050 out of pocket
-
Thanks!!! I was so happy to get the approval. My out of pocket is a little high (5050)' date=' with with the pre and post care support provided, it is well worth it![/quote']That is $5050.00

Happy to report that I was approved today! 40.1 BMI- waiting for my pre-op scheduling!!!!

That's great newme!! So we are pretty much at the same point! After getting my insurance approval' date=' I received a letter in the mail with my scheduled pre-op dates....the letter came about a week after I spoke with Shalanda. Which surgeon are you using?[/quote']Did they call you with possible date choices to schedule or did you just get a list of predetermined date/times

Stacy03, I am with Dr. Evanson. I really like him. He said that he considered me a perfect candidate for the Sleeve and expects that I will drop my weight quickly. That was bet encouraging. I also signed up as a possible candidate for the activity study- so I hope that comes through. I see it as a good motivation to have my activity tracked pre and post op. I know it's too late for June, but I hope I can still get a July date!

Stacy03, I am preop as well. I actually just got the call today from Shalanda letting me know my insurance approval came in this morning!!! Hope to get my pre-ops scheduled soon

Stacy03, I have started attending the St. Vincent Support group they offer on the 1st $ 2d Tuesday of the month. It is very informative to hear from others in various stages of their journey. Have you been to one?
-
I would say, have it removed. I initially tried the holistic approach, and 5 months later I was in the hospital having it removed after becoming deathly sick. I feel so much better now!!
-
hey everyone just had my surgery Monday & I'm having alot of pain around the largest incision site' date=' it feels like a tugging or pulling just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?[/quote']My surgeon said to expect that, he explained it exactly as a tugging feeling. It is where they remove the part of the stomach.
-
Just got a call from Dr Evanson's office. They just submitted my packet to the Insurance Company. YAY!
They said it could take up to two weeks to get a reaponse- i hope to hear before then.... Wish me luck!!

You may be talking about something else newme-in13. Because the all day class does not include an exercise regiment. The first half of the day is spent with the nutritionist' date=' going over Vitamins, supplements, diet plans, what to expect in the hospital. Plus there are a couple of guest speakers. The second half is done by a nurse and is primarily about prevention of blood clots and giving yourself lovenox shots after surgery.[/quote']Thanks for that clarification. I have been trying to figure it all out as well. Can't wait!
-
Can anyone tell me what the 8 hour meet with the nutritionist is at St Vincent's? Please.I was told it would be 3 hours, wow! Big difference. It is supposed to be a classroom setting to go through the post op, including exercise regiment.

Thats Great! I just had my consult with Dr. Evanson at St. Vincents yesterday and have my psych eval on Thursday. If all goes well with my insurance submittal next week, I will be sleeved by July!
