  1. I just took my 'before' photos and HOOOOLY CR AP! If I weren't going into surgery in 3 days I'm pretty sure I would have smashed the camera (which is very expensive) and used the strap to hang myself from the nearest light fixture. Then again' date=' I doubt the light fixture would hold me! Wow, wow, wow. If I wasn't sure before, I AM NOW! No wonder I have avoided the camera for the last few years! (funny thing is my fiance and I are both photographers) It's a lot easier being on the back side of the camera. Which is exactly where I will stay until I loose at least 50 lbs. Goodness sakes. SMH.[/quote']

I can relate! I am a photographer and videographer- cannot stand to be on the other side of the lens. I am looking forward to that changing...

  2. I got my date...August 6th....so' date=' I'm not going to be a July sleever after all. I'm going to have to go find the August group now <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Good luck to all of you July sleevers!!![/quote']

Same here- my date is now Aug 2nd.... :)

  3. I got my date today! It's July 8th! I'm a little anxious because my surgeon likes a 2 week pre-op diet but the date is less than 2 weeks away! I started the diet tonight. I happened to have a support group meeting tonight and my dietitian was there and I talked to her about it; she said it would be okay.

    Wow! That is quick! Congrats!!

  4. There are many many reasons, but it has come down to me recognizing that I couldn't do it on my own. I would lose weight by diet and exercise, but then gain it right back with some extra pounds as well.

After my last family vacation this past April and seeing the photos (which I constantly avoided), I decided "this is it". I will no longer allow my excess weight to dictate my life. It is great to know that when I return to the beach next spring, I will no longer be afraid to be in the camera or on the beach with my family. I cannot wait to join the sleeve side soon.

  5. THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE!!! I really appreciate the feedback. I've decided to switch to St V and they have been super helpful already. I have all my appts for July and Aug already set. Something is finally going smooth LOL

Definitely come to one of the support groups (1st & 2nd Tuesday of each month) they are really beneficial.

  6. Ladies there is a great Facebook page that I gave joined that I really enjoy that is only women that have had WLS. Everyone is so helpfull and delightful. They leave all kinds of helpful tips and inspiration. The site is "new me"

Is it a private page? I didn't see it come up in search. I am a member of 2 other Facebook pages, men and women both on there. They are both private so the info/postings do not show up on your personal FB page.
