imbabiluv got a reaction from Museum-Mama in My New Crockpot Sensation (for those on pureed foods)
Well I am on day 3 of pureed foods and I wanted something different so I put together this little meal in my crockpot and puréed it.
    Ingredients:
Boneless and skinless chicken breast (I only used one because I was unsure of how it would turn out)
1 can of carrot slices drained
    Low sodium chicken broth
1 low sodium chicken stock concentrate
*Optional mashed sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes about enough to to thicken once done
If using pouch potatoes use 1 pouch, don't add the Water but add the milk
I added all the ingredients in my crockpot and set it on high ( low if you want to let it go longer while your busy). I cooked in on high for 4 hours. Check to see that the chicken pulls apart without no problem. I added one pouch of sweet mashed potatoes and the 1/2 cup of skim milk. I pureed it all. You can store this in containers or try cooling it off completely. Putting the purée into an ice cube tray. Freeze it. Then put into freezer bags and freeze them. Each time you need one just grab what you need and defrost. Heat it up by microwave.
This was so good my kids loved it. It was something new and different. I hope someone can use it.

I am having the same problem. Sleeved on 4/16/13. I am pretty much just on Protein Shakes and I always have a water bottle with me so I can sip. If I eat purée food I won't come even close to my Protein goal. I can't even finish a whole egg. I try to have two shakes and two- three "meals" doesn't always work out though.

I had a hard time getting down the shakes...cut down on the sipping. Your stomach is still swollen at this point. Add some low-fat milk to your drinking.

My go to was sugarfree pudding. It helped me so much. Take your favorite sugarfree instant pudding. Mine is chocolate. Take 1 and 1/4 cup(10oz ) of skim milk. Add a scoop of Protein powder. I have used chocolate, vanilla and unflavored. ( I am a big fan of the Unjury) Blend the milk and Protein Powder, then add the pudding. I divide into to bowls and chill. It is about 15 grams of Protein, and about 175 calories which you really need right now. In the beginning, I added two scoops which took the calories up 50 and the protein up to 25 grams! You would be surprised how much better you will feel. Also, with it being a soft food, it's easier to get it down and doesn't make you feel overstuffed.
This helped me so much so I hope it helps you!

I had my sleeve done 6 days ago. I had in put in 10/24/10. It was slow I did lose a lot of weight but I developed diabetes. My band was removed and the sleeve was done the same day. I made the choice march 18th and just had my surgery. I am coping with the liquids and I'm happy that my diabetes are gone as of the surgery. It's your preference but I regret my lap band.
