  8. I dont now bout Carle Hospital...but I do know that several people from that area come here to Peoria for their surgery...Peoria Surgical group is amazing and we have a wonderful support system here. I will be heading to the hospital in a few mins to get my sleeve done by Dr. Marshal.... Hope this helps a bit!
  9. I have a friend that has not been sleeved and she is a huge advocate of this line of products...She is a health nut! She doesnt put anything in her body at all that is bad for ya....hope this helps a bit. I have not tried it yet but she did send me a sample of the Protein shake that I have not had yet.
  10. Not sure if you ever thought...but maybe your success might NOT be as good if you didnt take the medication. If the Dr. needs you to take it you should take it. you obviously have a medical condition that needs this medication. Discuss this with the Dr.
  11. I can't believe all my hard work is gonna start paying off today! I started this journey 7 months ago to jump through every hoop that the insurance company wanted in order to approve my surgery...I will be leaving for the hospital today in just 2 hours...My bag is packed...and just a few more things around the house to get done so my family is prepared for my absence for 2 days...my new life is just around the bend....Hard to believe! YEAH! For any of you that are pre-op still trying to jump through the hoops....keep it up eventually you will be here too!

  16. Thanks...so far they have not but I think the reality of me not being here will hit them tomorrow night bout dinner time....LOL
  17. Just review the materials that you were given in the beginning and get back to basics...if you ever need to chat just add me as a friend and in box me and together we can get through the rough Patches....Keep me posted!
  18. After many months of preperations....I have my arrival time for surgery tomorrow...and I have to be there at 11:30. So hard to believe it is finally time...kinda like preparing for a baby to be born....LOL...And just like in that fashion...I have been "nesting" getting everything cleaned and prepared for my family for the time that I will be in the hospital...did anyone else do this? I have 3 kids ages 3, 8, and 17, and a fiance.....not sure they can survive 48 hours without me!
  19. if you have a dollar tree in your area they sell the crystal light candies along with other sugar free candies
  20. Well...Chickie....time to put those voices of negativitly on the back burner.....Time to utilize the tool that you worked hard to get.....now that you can eat "real" food again....you have to get back to the basics...Remember to eat your lean proteins 1st and you might want to get back to if you are not already and start journally what you eat...make sure you are getting your water in and some protein shakes to help with your cravings...Hopefully this helps a bit...We all know it is hard but in the long run you will be so much happier...dont surrender be a survivor!
  21. I think all of us struggle with the idea of not eating platefuls of food when choosing this surgery....Currently on my clear liquid diet...I have surgery tomorrow and yesterday was hard cuz it was the 1st full meal I cooked for my family since I started my liquid diet and I wasnt hungry but my head was say damn wouldnt that taste good...I had to fight the temptation to l lick my fingers after putting the food on my kids plates...but I remembered the journey I began and want to succeed with. I know the journey is a scary one to start but things are gonna be ok...you made a choice and you will do great....We all struggle with the fact that we will not be able to enjoy the foods that we over induldge in right now.... Keep your head up and remember and see the path ahead of you and things will be GREAT!
  22. ok...none of us would be in our situations if we didnt LOVE food.....I am a carb addict....I admit it....but I will tell you one thing this journey has really opened my eyes to alot of stuff...Not sure where you are located and if you are having your surgery locally to you...We have support groups that meet here for Bariatric patients...I have to say that I really enjoy going and sharing with others in the same situation...
  23. U poor thing...I am sorry you are going through this right now. It must be very difficult. I have been worried bout dealing with a lazy Ole man that doesnt want to get up to move 1 ft to get his garbage can to throw his snack stuff away and I am on my liquid diet...so he calls me from the back of the house to get his garbage can....so I feel your pain...He told me that I am not gonna use my surgery as an excuse to be lazy...I know he is just giving me a hard time but really....here I was gonna try and help you and started venting myself...sorry I sure hope you can look past what he is doin and realize that you are doing great! Keep working hard and you will reap the rewards!!
  24. Congrats....I hope I do as well as you are doing...I get mine done on Thursday and hope to be doing laps
  25. CONGRATS....U must be feeling pretty good to be online and posting already....You will do just fine....and good luck!
