July 8 Roll Call
Alright everyone scheduled for July 8, we are one week away from being on the sleeved side (yippee!). Be sure to take care of yourself and be healthy, don't be like me who is still fighting this cold (let's add pink eye too since I don't have enough on my plate, shall we?) Awful before pics taken with me in a bathing suit. Measurements taken (in centimeters since I will cry if I converted it to inches) Jigsaw puzzles, Netflix movies and eBooks all ready to go. I even got a journal to note my goals and track the emotional component of eating. Supply shopping with mom today since I will be staying with her for week 1 recovery. She's already making beef broth. food funerals will continue through the holiday day weekend. Somedays nervous, somedays excited, mainly not focusing on it too much since I have so much to get done at work and home before hand. How is everyone feeling? Kisses, Fiorella

Sorry...but I have to ask...
When did you begin taking fiber or softeners? I am having surgery in a week and what to know when I should start taking anything. My surgeon post op diet is days1-4 clears then 5-10 full then puréed for 2weeks after that.

July 2013 sleevers
I did the same thing for few weeks, now I just want veggies and salad since I won't have them for a bit.

Any july 8 sleevers?
Well it's official, I have caught a cold before surger, fever, sore throat, cough the whole nine yards!. At least I have couple weeks to kick it in the butt and take some much needed nyQuil (I have a secret stockpile of the good stuff before they changed their formula). Downside is using more sick days before my actual surgery, but my boss is very understanding. My intentions were to be very healthy and eat lots of green things that I will have to avoid for the first few months after surgery. What can I say, I'm weird I actually like kale and beets and spinach, but I also like French fries and nuggets! Right now I am beta testing my post op routine since I am sickie poo (tea with honey, Soup, sleeping). Wish me fast recovery so I can eat my damn salads and some last hurrah meals too!

Oh you will become my new bestie! I am sure you know lots of answers to our question post op. PS my not so secret dream is to be hired by my surgeon as his new NP. He doesn't have one so i spend all my time telling him how useful we can be!

Any july 8 sleevers?
Yes had my upper GI and endo, it was easy. Upper GI kinda fun since they started me standing then the platform I was on moved me lying position where I literally had to pivot my body around to move that barium around the stomach so they could image the whole are at different angles, then poof the table stand me up again. 15 days till surgery!

Endoscopy Diagnosis
Did you have symptoms of reflux or acid before? The general recommendation is if you have severe stomach issues, the bypass is a better option because the sleeve can make these things worse.

Any Miami, Fl Pre-sleevers?
Tomorrow is endoscopy and upper GI... Don't ask me why but I'm nervous, lol and I work in medicine so it's not the procedure. I guess it's that there have been so many roadblocks I'm afraid of another one. Wish me clean scope!

Post Op Calories
Slave to Senor Sleeve replied to Slave to Senor Sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AThanks for all the feedback. I am preop (28 days to go My nutritionist visit was short and frustrating so I have been doing my own research and reading publications on post bariatric diets. I guess I will experiment what makes me feel better energy wise while of course making smart choices. Now I think I will have a latte while I can still enjoy them

What is/was your pre-op diet? Please share.
No preop diet, just fast night before.

Post Op Calories
So most everyone I read on here talks about their calories counts. I understand in the first few weeks while recovering one is taking in 500-800 calories a day, but how about when you are back to your daily routine (working, exercising, etc...). Do you really have the energy to do everything on 700 calories a day? That seems very very low?
