3 days po HELP!
I had that too but it was caused by my pain meds. It stopped at Day 4, and now only happens when I over-do it.

Dr. Alavrez patients...
I had my surgery with Dr. A on May 9th. I went with someone, but would have been perfectly fine by myself. They take really good care of you there. I've had no issues and am super happy with my choice. I'm getting some follow up blood work done on Monday, but already my blood pressure is within normal range. I would highly recommend Dr. A; he is a very skilled surgeon.

Has anyone taken PHENTERMINE after vsg?
If you want to feel better about your weight loss, look at others who've only lost half that in the same time frame. We are all different. The best thing you can do is stop comparing yourself to others, and stop treating this like a diet. It is a lifestyle change. You will get to where you want to be in your own time:)... Just stick to your plan, without the unhealthy drugs.

Water
Try warm tea. Warm liquids seem to go down better. But, all this will get better in time.

Chafing
Best low cost option is Vaseline.

Feeling Nothing
I'm very sure many people can relate to how you feel. Look at this as an opportunity to find a more harmonious union with your mind and body, an opportunity you would not have if you were preoccupied with eating all day, and gaining weight and other medical ailments. Perception becomes our reality. How you choose to look at this opportunity will be reflected on how you feel. Start training your mind now and you will feel amazing. I'm the opposite. I feel awesome until I look in the mirror. Then, I'm like "oh, sh-t" "I'm not skinny!" And that with a partially disabled leg. LOL. See, I have issues too:)

Period is worse post op :( this sucks
My first one after surgery was brutal. But, the second one was much better and less days. I think as our bodies get over the trauma and regulate (the hormones), it will be better. Hang in there:)

Eggs
Some people struggle with eggs at first. Try using some skim milk to make them flufflier. You will be able to tolerate them better with time.

Cramping?
Make sure you're taking all your Vitamins, especially your Omega-3s and Calcium. Their good for cramps. Yes, your body is going thru hormonal changes, but also it is very common that with the reduced calorie diet you're not getting all your nutrients. I have Endo so I know all about cramping, but when I take all my supplements, my cramps are severely reduced. Another really good supplement is Pycnogenol.

Day 1 - Full liquids - afraid to try yogurt!
Take is slowww.... I mean real slow, then wait to see how your stomach reacts. The first time I tried it, it felt weird; but, then things got better the second time a tried it, and so on.

Anyone feel amazing post op?
Me. Had surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Tuesday. I felt some gas discomfort, but it wasn't bad -- and some soreness on my tummy, but again nothing I had to take pain meds for. I think I only took like 3 pain pills total, and that was for the day after surgery and the plane ride home. I only took 2-3 days of antacids. The gas discomfort tends to travel to different sites on your body, like your shoulders, but it wasn't that bad for me. Thank goodness.

Stomach growling after surgery
Does it go away by drinking liquids? I was constantly sipping during that first week post-op, so my stomach would make noises - but, it was not hunger.

Down 127 pounds since 10/15...new before and after pic
That's incredible!! Congrats!
-
Decaf tea...can you have it after surgery ?
Yes, yes and yes. Cold liquids were fine, but warm decaf tea went down especially well as early as Day 2 post-op.

Sushi after surgery
You'll have to wait until you get to regular foods (phase 4), after the mushies and soft foods. Mine is after 4 weeks, but every doctor/NUT has a different plan. I would specifically ask your surgeon, since it is an important food for you. Now, the rice attached to some of the sushi - I would wait quite a while before I ate that, but that's just me. Even when your doctor OKs a food still take it very slow (take one very small bite and wait) to see how your body will react to it. Oh, and you have to chew the heck out of it before swallowing.
