  1. I steer clear of Aspartame. Not everyone reacts to it, but it is definitely not something you want to put in your body. I agree that they should make the stuff with Stevia -- way better alternative. I would personally pay a little extra for something like that.
  2. Your stomach is still numb. You will feel the restriction soon with solid proteins, just take it easy on your new tummy.
  3. Sounds delish... and more healthy than a protein shake:)
  4. Yumm.... Didn't know they had those food options:)
  5. Ha-ha... No kidding... Serious trouble:)
  6. I'm so glad you are getting treatment and following up:) I have a fem-fem bypass (left to right leg) and a blood clot has been one of my biggest fears. Also, I know how important it is to insist you get the appropriate attention from doctor (since I am currently living with the result of a doctors "accident" - not related to sleeve BTW).
  7. Bug the heck out if the ER docs until you get treatment. Blood clots can be very serious. Sending positive vibes your way!!
  8. Sugar alcohols are chemically engineered laxatives = why
  9. What is your typical daily caloric intake? Do you exercise? Maybe you need to change things up a bit to jump start your weightloss. I know that your body gets "comfortable" at a certain set point. Sometimes you need to confuse it to get things started again. Some of the vets are doing the 5:2 diet, but I believe that for sleevers more than a year out.
  10. Small amounts are ok. Just make sure you start with a little to gauge your tolerance. Personally, they wreak havoc to my stomach and intestines. And remember that this stuff is an engineered product (and not real food), so use it sparingly, if you must at all ...
  11. Thanks, Butterthebean:) These noises are freaking me out... It's almost like they start at the esophagus.
  12. I'm three months out... Every time I swallow my food (having chicken/veggies), my stomach is making this weird noise I've never heard before. It almost starts off like a whistling sound, then some gurgling. It's super weird. My veggies are a mix that include mushrooms and corn. Wonder if anyone else is experiencing weird sounds after eating (besides the normal grumblings)...
  13. Wow... the pics are definitely helpful. Thanks, Fiddleman:) I think I would be doing cartwheels everyday if I could get to 20-25%... not to mention, I would look awesome:)
  14. Listen ... we are hungry and moody (and hormonal for us women). This is a fat people trying to get skinny forum... hello!! Having said that though (and after I ate something and had my coffee), I do like it when everyone's nice and helpful.
  15. Ahhh... I remember when I first tried soft foods. It was like Christmas:) Scrambled eggs were a little hard for me at first though.
  16. I suppose everyone has to do what works for them. I do agree with LipstickLady that if you're getting thirsty, it means you are already dehydrated. I know for me water and/or fluids keep my skin looking great. My skin is noticeably worse when I don't get all of my fluids in. Also, I'd like to think that any toxins would be flushed out if I drink enough fluids.
  17. Oh, and seasonings are big on MSG as well. I guess we stick to salt/pepper and garlic/onion?
  18. So... is anyone else concerned with all the MSG in Protein powders. I know that we are all very health conscious at the moment, and I know that the protein is very necessary; but, this is probably a good reason to switch to "real" protein as soon as possible?? These contain MSG: Textured protein whey protein Whey protein concentrate Whey protein isolate Soy protein Soy protein concentrate Soy protein isolate Anything “protein” Anything “protein fortified” Has any of our advanced researchers looked into protein supplements that don't contain MSG? I'm on real foods now, but on occasion I don't feel like eating all my protein... I know that some people turn to juicing, but I just don't have the time and energy to juice every day.
  19. I just wanted to send hugs your way:) I really hope you feel better and find a way to feel better about everything.
  20. Try some warm liquids. They seemed to go down better for me.
  21. I would start by cutting the carbs and only eating at meal times (3 meals and two snacks, or whatever you choose to follow). Give yourself 30 minutes to eat. Whatever is not eaten after 30 minutes, put away or throw away. And make sure you getting all your protein and fluids in. Good luck to you... you can definitely do this:)
  22. Congrats! I know you feel great:)
