Actually, *I* am the queen around these parts, Laura and Pat are simply my yellow, capsule shaped minions...
My input for what it is worth. That old adage about treating others as you want to be treated? You can hit Pat with sarcasm and humor, you can lob a few f-bombs at Laura, you deal out honest, solid advice, facts or opinions to either, you can disagree, debate or flat out tell them to shove it up their assticles and they can take it.
In turn, YOU should be able to take people telling you to go to hell, calling your comments b!tchy, people telling you that you are a tool and to pull your head out of your ass, etc. because that's how YOU have treated others here. It wasn't one post, it has been your pattern and that's ok. I am not putting you down for who you are, I am not saying you don't have the right to be say whatever you are feeling. I am simply telling you that you have to expect your voice to come back at you and when it does, you have no justification for whining about it.
Stay or go, it's up to you. Personally, I think you should stay. It's clear you need the support and this is a great place to get it. That said, we are all adults here and you will be treated with the same respect you dole out to others.
Good luck to you on your journey!

I had my lap band removed 5 weeks ago and at my post op visit I was told I needed to lose 50 pounds before my doctor would do my surgery. Well I weighed in on Friday and I am down 30 pounds in 4 weeks. The nutritionist was so happy with my results that she told the doctor that I am ready for surgery. I will hopefully find out on Monday or Tuesday my surgery date.

    I know its hard to not see the scale move daily, but geez- some of us really need to give ourselves a break. You're not going to lose weight daily or even weekly sometimes. I don't like the whole "stall" term either for people who have recently had surgery. People please don't forget YOU JUST HAD SURGERY! Your body has to adjust and the weight loss will come. Do what your doctor says and be a bit more patient. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

(Disclaimer - I'm a guy and I think like a guy) You're right in a group of three girls there's sometimes 'the fat one' but there's almost always 'the hot one'.
You're lucky you have supportive long term relationships with them. You've gone from 'the fat one' to 'the hot one' in 7 months. Most girls would be insanely jealous!

    Holy Cow - It's been 7 months!
My weight has pretty much stayed the same this last month and I'm quite okay with it I started at 231 lbs. and 'm holding steady at 143 lbs. Ideally, I'd like to lose 10 more pounds and I am working towards it. It will happen!
I was just in my friend's wedding this past weekend and it was so nice not to dread a formal event!! Last time this year, I dreaded stuff like this for weeks due to knowing I wouldn't have anything to wear and that there would be tons of pictures. My friend looked beautiful and I was able to focus on her wonderful day rather than being insecure and concerned about how I looked.
As you will see in the pictures below, my friends are super tiny...like 95-100 pounds tiny! They have been my friends since I was 5 and I had always felt insecure taking pictures with them...no one wants to be the fat friend! With that said, they have been extremely supportive. They have never made me feel bad about myself and when I told them I was having the surgery they were 100% supportive. They are so proud of me and I love them for it. I didn't tell every person I know that I had surgery, but I did tell my close friends and it was one of the best things I could have done. To me, the surgery was something to Celebrate and something to be proud of. I'm proud of my decision and how hard I've worked to lose the weight....I hope everyone else feels that same sense of pride! You are taking control of your life and it should be celebrated.
Thank you to the people who read my posts every month. You guys leave the nicest comments and I'm thankful for the support this forum has provided me with. Wishing everyone happiness and success with their surgery!
    Jordyn

I didnt realize there was a forum to the 100lb losers. This is my post from the stories forum.
Hello all, just past my 4 month anniversary since the surgery and am down 112lbs. I am only 22 pounds away from my initial goal. I have since decided to change that goal another 20 to 30 lbs since I am a lot further along than I thought I would be. At my last visit Dr. Myers said my weightloss has been remarkable. That felt good. I have started to get into a pattern of weightloss for a week or so, then level off for a week or so then weightloss again. During my level off periods is when I am fitting into different sizes. I wore a xxl dress shirt yesterday. In July I was wearing 5xl shirts. I no longer have to shop at the big and tall. My selection of clothes now have tripled. And lets not even get to all the energy I have. I mean tons, sometimes I feel restless and just need to burn energy. It is an amazing feeling and a good problem to have. The best thing is I am no longer using a cpap and taking meds any more. My family doctor took me off of them a few weeks ago. I have been on some of them since 1994!

I told my mom about my 50lb milestone yesterday and she said, "See, you don't even need surgery. You can do it on your own."
I told her, "Having surgery is still doing it on my own." And then all day I'm questioning myself if I really believe that.
Part of the reason that I don't want people to know I'm having surgery is because I don't want people thinking I didn't work for it. I know, I know, I shouldn't be bothered by what other people think... easier said than done.

Dr Alvarez sends you home with a copy of his book and Susan will email you info about all the pre and post op diet plans, info on the Vitamins we need to take.
Dr Alvarez also emails us when it's time to move to the next phase of our food plan. I'm sure there is plenty we could have learned from a nutritionist, but we are doing great with the support & info we get from this forum. I'm confident we will reach our goals.
It's great that you have a PCP who is supporting your decision and will follow you. We are lucky that way too. My fiancé has been able to get off 2 Rx meds already. He's very happy about that.
Good luck on your journey. You'll do great. Looking forward to following your progress.
