  1. Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Nibs. 1 calorie a piece. Chocolate nibs dipped in 65% dark chocolate, very intense. A couple of nibs do the trick without sabotaging me.
  2. I get dumping on occasion, typically when I eat something my tummy is not ready for. I'm at 3 1/2 months now and it's much less common, but I had it weekly in the first few months. I distinctly remember eating 4 fresh strawberries and having an explosive exit within a short amount of time. eggs can do it sometimes, even drinking a Protein shake too fast can sometimes do it. Sliming typically happens when I eat too much too fast. Bites are too big, I don't wait enough time between bites. Very unpleasant.
  3. Seela, I feel for you. I have one kid that does that to me. I have no answers, just empathy.
  4. I can't do beer anymore, carbonation makes me ill. However, Jack Daniels with Water on the rocks works well and is only 65 calories. Sometimes it's a glass of red wine, which I can make last an hour if I sip it, but that's 110 calories and has carbs. I really have to watch the booze, the calories creep up. I need to limit it to one drink once a week to keep losing. I do like going out with friends to the local watering hole, though.
  5. I feel the need to stir up the hornet's nest today, been too quiet. I have noticed lately a lot of people (typically newer folks, but some further down the road, too) saying they just want to "be normal." Then they go on to say they want to eat whatever they want, often modifying it with "small amounts," "in moderation," or other caveats. Also, it seems that "whatever they want" always seems to include junk foods, cake, chips, or soda or other high calorie/low nutrition items. You rarely see a post about someone wanting to eat "normally" so they can feast on asparagus and Brussel sprouts. Here is my question to everyone: Discounting teenage boys, do you really know anyone naturally thin that eats that type of food whenever they want? Now, I don't claim to know everything, but personally I don't know any thin people (who have always been at a normal weight) that eat crap on a regular basis, in moderation or not. The thin people I know think about what they eat. They have Lean Cuisines for lunch or a salad, if they have dessert (rarely) they share it, they never eat in secret or binge or hide food, and they usually have some form of regular exercise, even if it's just walking the dog. They have smaller portions, and yes, they will enjoy big meals at family occasions and holidays, but those are events that occur only a few times a year. I know we'll have some folks answer back that their whoever eats whatever they want and is thin, but really, what do they eat? Do they eat bags of chips, several sodas every day, fried food, piles of mashed potatoes or french fries? Do they go through a bag of Cookies in a sitting? So, food for thought - what exactly is normal eating and are our expectations appropriate?
  6. What GG said. Gotta log it so you can see where the issues are. Are you following the sleeve basics? That seems to help lots of people get back on the horse. Protein first 64 oz minimum Water Don't drink with your meals. If you want to get back on track, it might be a good idea to just try to stick to what worked for you early in your program. Can you visit your doctor or nut for a check up? Good luck.
  7. You can puree tuna and chicken salad, chili, etc.
  8. It took me 6 to 8 weeks to feel myself again. Just be patient and try to not overdo. Be kind to yourself during this healing period.
  9. I'm so glad to hear it. Do keep us updated, Revs.
  10. I tried it because I used to love it. The fizzies were too much for me and I couldn't drink it it. Made me feel ill.
  11. Y'all just had major surgery, of course you feel icky. Totally normal. Just take it easy, pamper yourselves, and rest. The first month is bad, but it gets better. Just follow your doctor's orders as best you can. Get in your fluid like you have been doing and your protein. Don't second guess yourself. Best of luck to you.
  12. Art is right about the temp thing, different temperatures can make a big difference. I hate ice water now, only drink room temp water or tea. Don't give up on your fluids, they are so important. When you pee, if it is dark yellow you are not getting enough fluids. Good luck getting them in.
  13. It gets better, really. Truly nasty in the beginning. The first month is awful. Good luck and chin up!
  14. Yes, talking about it is all I can do. Those who can't, talk.
  15. For the first time we are having thxgvg at a restaurant. I usually cook a big meal, but this year we are going out. No fuss, no mess, no leftovers. I'll eat my turkey first, then the other stuff and I think I'll be OK. A least that's the plan.
  16. Roast them in olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sea salt until soft and caramelized. Use a hot oven. Delish.
  17. That's very sad. Whataburger is usually quite good. However, personally I like In 'n Out more, and Dan's Hamburgers in the Austin area. And green chile cheeseburgers pretty much anywhere here in New Mexico.
  18. I have Matrix Peanut Butter, I added a spoonful of PB2 to it and mix with milk (pretty tasty) but may try it with water next time. It was rich and heavy and I couldn't finish one Serving.
  19. Sleevette! No name for the brain. Jelly Belly for my external tummy LOL.
  20. Oh goodness, y'all are cracking me up this morning.
  21. Congrats, GG! I'm so happy for you.
  22. I just read it, omg, that poor woman really believes it. I agree it is one of the more memorable posts. (Shakes head and sighs)
  23. My surgeon, Dr. Acosta in El Paso (center of excellence) did the band for years and now won't do them, only sleeve and RNY. OP, just do your research on the % of issues with each procedures and the lifestyle afterwards to see if it makes sense for you. Good luck.
  24. Who runs the clinic? I would talk to them. If she is new, she is likely on probation. A good nut is very important. The patient must be able to trust them and respect them.
