  1. I don't really usually like attention from people but I have felt kind of sad about nobody commenting on my weightloss. Tonight a lady I don't see often said to me "you've lost weight" and I said "a little" and she looked me up and down and said "no, not just a little, you look great". Boy did it make my day! I was in the early part of my last breaktime walk and I added 4 or 5 flights of stairs, up & down, in the middle. Plus I was wearing a clingy sweater that I thought made me look fat AND a coat! My husband and my best friend tell me all the time but no one else ever mentions it, until tonight. I've lost 2 sizes and over 50 lbs so it should be at least a little noticeable.
  2. Amazing! You look great! Ok, when you lose weight that fast is it weird and hard to remember that your body is sooo much smaller? Its GOT to be strange to have your body melting away that quickly!

    scale victory!

Its so exciting to see a new low number isn't it? I had not been below 233 since the 80s so every time I see a "new" number I just cant believe it. Soon I will be under 200 and you will probably hear the scream from your house- no matter where you are! You've lost 78 lbs since Sept 3? GIRL!!!!!! How wonderful.

    Candy bowls and window seats.

I work in an office with a big candy bowl about 10 or 12 feet behind me. I tell myself "thats not food" and "thats not yours" and pretty much refuse to even see it as being there. I would not give up the prime location.
  5. Not a blender endorsement but I had to comment. I had it in my head that protein drinks should be like shakes- blended thick with ice. After surgery the foam I never even noticed before was killing me. Still it took me a couple months to just use a blender bottle- with a metal ball wisk in it, to make my protein. I even asked advice on here about making my protein less "airy" and didn't get that suggestion. I felt like a real dummy when I finally figured that one out. Plus Java pro doesn't even blend right in a blender, I HAVE to do it in the shaker and pour it over ice.

    Chips...NOT A SLIDER!

I broke down and bought some Doritos fully expecting to be able to eat too many of them but I think I ate 6 before I was stuffed. Hopefully I keep restriction with the "sliders" for a long time.
  7. I have bought compression shorts. I think I should have bought them a size smaller. What do most people do about their belly flopping up and down when they run or jump? Should compression shorts be super tight? Is there a better solution?

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

I was in an over a month stall! Finally I lost weight Sat, Sun & Mon totaling 4 1/2 lbs. So glad that's over! So I have lost 58 1/2 since May and 90 since a few years ago. I found some old pictures from 6 years ago and I don't even remember my face and body being as fat as they were at 298 lbs. Unreal.

What do you do about your flopping belly?

Wow I didn't even realize there WERE compression shirts like that- like decent looking outer garments! I think I need a compression garment for everything above the elbows and knees- like a wetsuit!!
  10. You look great! Now I'm going to keep thinking about my legs as chicken legs! LOL It's the perfect analogy, saggy but in clothes- chicken legs!

    Someone made my day!

Thank you both. I've been stalled for a month so someone noticing came at a good time.
  12. Even stuff like Doritos I can only eat a small amount- thank goodness!
  13. I like Body Fortress too. I've had samples of other kinds but always come back to this. Since my surgery I have finished one tub each of vanilla, strawberry & chocolate. All are good but the strawberry is weak tasting so I add a squirt of raspberry Torani. I also use a LOT of NOW unflavored protein. I used to like the RTD Premier Protein but I cant stand it anymore.
  14. Just marvelous! Thanks for sharing a days menu- it helps to see what others eat and how many meals & Snacks. You look great!

You look great! Amazing what you can accomplish in one short year, isn't it?

Try to find at least a little time one day a week to prepare and divide up some food for the week that you can grab and eat or grab and go. I bought a pack of 1/2 cup glad ware for less than $3. I measure out low carb chili or refried Beans or meat with a little veggie and stack them up in the frig and freezer. I buy individual greek yogurts. I even have some of my Protein powder pre-scooped into baggies and little plastic containers because sometimes I buy milk or iced coffee on the go and stir them in, or if I grab a shaker cup that makes it even easier. Another thing- since I had this surgery time goes very slowly. Like yesterday i was thinking I have been stalled for MONTHS and so I looked at the calendar and it was almost one month- yea thats a long time but it felt like forever. I printed out a one page whole year calendar to put my weightloss on so I can see how many days since I last lost. Even before this stall I would think it had been weeks since I lost and it really was 4 or 5 days. Maybe you are feeling the same way. You already had the surgery so you owe it to yourself to make the best use of it. Measure all your food so you don't overeat and slow it down. The hardest thing for me sometimes is eating slow enough and small bites. We were eating out a couple days ago and I took a big first bite and swallowed it without a lot of chewing- like the "old" days and man! it messed up my whole meal. I could barely eat at all. I had to take a doggie bag back to the hotel and try again an hour later to get a little more down. Don't let yourself down. Do your best to get what you need. All food should not be hurting or making you nauseous unless you are eating too big bites, not chewing it really well and eating too much. Some things will- things you aren't ready for yet but not everything. If everything truley makes you feel that bad you need to consult your Dr.
  17. I started with Chike, then because of the price went to Fit Frappe and now Java Pro but i think the best is my own coffee blended with unflavored, vanilla or sometimes even chocolate protein powder. Sometimes I brew coffee the night before and refrigerate it and sometimes I make the cold coffee concentrate you often see on the Internet. My most favorite is Keurig Donut House iced coffee chilled and then blended with NOW unflavored protein and some ice. I keep a few of those little rubbermaid 1/2 cup containers always filled with a scoop of unflavored powder because a few times I have had to run out of the house in a hurry and all I had to do was grab my shaker bottle and my little container of powder and buy iced coffee somewhere to mix with it.

    Chicken Cordon Bleu casserole

How much did the topping add to it? Would it still be as good or almost as good without it?
  21. Oh wonderful! I was hoping that would end soon! I'm a little over 4 months and the noises embarrass me and I can't do anything about them except not eat- which isn't an option.
  22. Do you mind saying what sizes you now wear? I am 5'8" and my goal is 145 so right about where you are now. TIA

    Fluid in ankles

Well I have never had high blood pressure but I did have almost constant swelling in my feet and ankles. I think they have only been slightly swollen 3 times since surgery 4 months ago.

    Old suit or New suit

I am....I mean WAS sentimental about my clothes but I learned something on Hoarders. Your memories are in your brain, not in your clothes. I was seriously thinking of keeping some things like the shirt I was wearing when I first held my Granddaughter but I reminded myself of what they said and bravely took it all to donate. Plus if they need to alter your suit very far, like from a 50 to a 36 or 38 they are going to have to cut it all apart and recut it, it wont be a simple tuck here and there.

    Rant about myself?!?!

I disagree. I have not seen even one post where I felt you rambled. I just read a long post of yours but it was factual, it stated what you were looking for and why (metabolism textbook). Now some people will tell you their life history and ramble way off topic but I don't have to read their post if I don't want to. If you have done that I sure haven't seen it. BTW I'm following your metabolism question, I sure would like to learn more too!
