My husband wont sleep with me
It sounds like he is under lots of stress from having to transition and adjust...think about it this way: he has been gone for 11 months...and then he comes home..your recovering from surgery and life is different for you in a lot of ways...its a new thing..he has to get used to the idea that you just had your body opened up and cut and sewn...to top it off..your son has autism and that is a big adjustment for anyone..let alone..for someone who has just been away for almost a year...your life is turned upside down...you have to adjust quickly..no time to sit back and unwind..you have to get into a routine with your son instantly because children with autism need routine...so...is he stressed? Oh you bet...i dont think he is making that one up ...and of course if that wasnt enough to handle...he just got back from somewhere that was pretty stressful as is im sure...has he talked about what has gone on the past 11 months? Odds are: he is suffering from military ptsd..and the side affect of that includes: insomnia, irritability, isolated or withdrawn and sexual dyfunction as well... I understand that you have needs and that includes intimacy and affection..however.. i think you might have to lower your expectation in the bedroom with him and give him some time..let him adjust..and stop bringing it up and trying to initiate it all the time..let him come to you when he feels ready..it will go over much better that way..and again like others have said..counselling is a very important tool for your marriage and for him too..i highly recommend it. Good luck

See you in the hospital then! I have surgery on the 11th...- September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
I told my parents..my mom is a nurse who works in hospice(dying people/terminal illness) ... so how did she take it? With a realistic head..i had to over-research it so i could make a good case for it...then i had to tell her that i dont want her opinion because i am an adult and its my life and i will have the surgery regardless of what she or anyone thinks- Hows the pre op diets going?
Its going better... i drink two shakes during the day and have sugar free jello if i feel the need to eat...then dinner is salad usually.. im doing good..lost 10 pounds in 5 days..havent weighed since...trying to stay off the scale and not obsess over numbers..i find i am not that hungry very much... i do cheat on purpose..at the end of a 7 day stretch of eating on plan...i allow one meal thats off plan( however its due to the face that im expected by my pcp to be on a diet for over a month and two weeks prior to surgery) When i get down to 14 days prior to surgery...then its strictly no cheating on anything..but until then..i can survive 7 days of dieting followed by one meal of my choice amd then back to the diet again- September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!

I have not been a member that long..however i have heard of you from your wife posting on these boards..i think its admirable that you would want to use your time and money to help others. I can not speak about what went down with you and alex as every side has a story..however out of curiosity..have you ever thought about creating a website for sleevers or people wanting to get sleeved and directing people on here to a link to that website so they can talk further with you about whats going on...you could help many more people that way...and you could proceed to accompany people as an advocate.. Perhaps im suggesting what you have already thought..but i figure it cant hurt to suggest it because i know so many people are in neex of the surgery and in need of stress free un-biased information regarding hospitals surgeons fees and the like. Thank you for being a great guy..one in a million who actually cares enough to help people the way you do..words are probably not enough- Does anyone know of a support group in Ottawa, Canada area?
- fish and chips post op anyone?
Yah i worry about the grease issue..as it is i dont handle greasy foods well..they give me a gut ache and make me sweat profusly after eating it- ANY SEPT SLEEVERS? :-)
Ur going to be in tj on the 11th for surgery?- New commercial!
Thats insane..canada is still crazy though...insurance will cover the lap band in canada but they wont cover the gastric sleeve...its so stupid..at least in british columbia...i know other parts of canada cover the sleeve but dont insure for the band or bypass... I have to go to Mexico just to get the sleeve cause its a 5 year waiting list just to get the sleeve in another province... Gosh...you would think they would have removed it as a choice..considering allthe complications..but maybe they just cover there butt by saying "it reduces obesity costs overall"- Who's Killed Their Television?
I wish..im ready to take a hammer to my TV...being on pre op diet and watching commercials are driving me nuts- September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
Where will you be getting it done? Where are you from? Im from port hardy bc canada..i will be having surgery in TJ Mexico. You???- fish and chips post op anyone?
Okay... i know this is all about lifestyle transformation and i am still pre op so its not like ive tried to order fish and chips after surgery... What i want to know is...once in a blue moon will i be able to go out with my hubby for a special dinner and order beer battered fish and fries? Cause it is my favorite thing in the whole world...i crave malt vinegar like its no ones business ever since i was young...i just want to know if it will ever be possible to eat battered and fried fish? Or will it always be a no no- Graphic Pics
