    Kaiser question

HI there..I completed my class in September. When you meet with the Dr he just asks you a series of questions related to you/eating/habits, etc. He reviews the diff types of surgeries that KP offers (gastric, sleeve and lap band - outsourced to another clinic). You will get weighed and your bp taken, he will order a bunch of tests (to include the infamous stool test) and then you are on your way. LOTS of great information to learn during your Options classes. You will also see the Dr at your 4, 8 and 12th week. He's not the determining factor in whether you move forward or not -just a precursor to get you on your way. Can I ask what KP you will be going to?

    WLS Cover-up Story

I struggled with this but this week I said PUCK it and told folks at work. All were pretty receptive; however, at the end of the day I have to ask myself..why do I need to lie about this and why do I care what others think. That's their issue and their problem..not mine. and I must add when I shared..i felt extremely free if that makes sense...

    Closet Sleever

Bravo for sharing this. I have told a total of 4 people who I know will not judge me but support me through this journey. However, I will be saying the same thing (gallbladder and hernia for me) for those that I work with esp since I work with a person who has major body issues and won't get it. I agree with tbrown9 - its nobody's business!
  7. Wooo hoo..so awesome. We have similar body type, weight and height - cannot wait to get to where you are! Congrats!!!

    Its really happening!

Thank you for this post! I have the THE EXACT SAME feeling about something happening. It's often a thought of "are you serious..this is really happening" I am no where near having a surgery date since I just started my pre op classes. Thanks for confirming that its not just me who has those thoughts Good luck!

    What's the Hardest Part?

In response to CLKs wonderful post. I have not had surgery yet - just starting on this journey. However, the one great thing I can say is that I have been in a group for disordered eating for the past 2 years. While I haven't lost any/too much weight, I have learned about the behaviors, triggers, emotionals, thoughts, mindfulness/mindless eating, mindful mediation which I am hoping will make this journey alot easier. I still fall off but not like I used to and when I do I recognize what or who was the cause. My only concern is that I hope during the Psych Eval they don't question me too much since it's in my medical record as an eating disorder.... thanks again for your great post!
  10. So great to see this topic!!! I start my Options Classes with KP and their office called me to schedule my appt with the surgeon and since those calls I have been grazing like crazy....Not alot of junk but just eating alllll dayyyy long. Can't wait for my first class (on Friday)! Seems like it took forever to get to 28 June. Excited and anxious all at the same time. *btw - how does someone start a post on this site???*
