I can say, "Eating a chicken wing at 5 days out is a horrible idea." and mean it in a sincere, caring, thoughtful way.

Some will take it as I mean it, some will take it as me saying, "OH MY GOD! YOU ARE SUCH A %^*^$& IDIOT!!! WHY DID YOU EVEN HAVE THIS %&^^%$ SURGERY?? YOU ARE GOING TO BE SUCH A FAILURE YOU MORON!!".

You can't read tone on the internet. And I've noticed once one person comes in with their defensive flags flying, it changes the entire tone of the thread, even when that defensive flag was completely unnecessary.

I would love to agree to disagree all day long. That said, I have a hard time doing so with someone who claims to be threatened where no threat was issued, where someone cries foul at cursing and name calling (even claiming that they would NEVER treat someone that way) and then does exactly that. I have a hard time respecting someone who drops the F bomb and calls women the C word in the same conversation where he/she talks about God and prayer. And the whole argument that "I'd like to say xyz but I won't" equates to not actually saying it? That's disrespectful to your reader AND yourself. I would beat my child senseless if they pulled that nonsense.

I've never had beef with you. I don't have beef with your right to vote/support whomever you want. I do have beef with the hypocrisy and then denial of that exact behavior in this thread. Do I always disagree with name calling? Yup. But at least the others who did it, own it and aren't trying to skirt around their behavior.

I don't get into political or religious arguments in any aspect of my life because no one is going to change their mind based on the words of a stranger on the internet. ESPECIALLY when behavior like the above (and deleted) is displayed.

I live in the south, so no, you don't speak for the south as a whole by any stretch of the imagination, but I won't get into a political pissing match with you or anyone else because it's not my thing.

That said, I will comment on the whole "I'd really like to say...but I won't" idea. You just did. That completely eradicates any foul you attempted to cry earlier. Quite frankly, you were much more harsh about it, too. You fired the first shots and you ended with a bang. You tried to implement a little Jesus up above, too, didn't you?

Why in the world would one jump into a political discussion with an opposing view, fire the very first shots and then cry foul when the discussion goes ugly? OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO GET UGLY. Don't play the game if you aren't prepared to take a few shots back.

Funny thing. I see name calling and language on both sides of the argument. It's my opinion that one can't call victim when one is also guilty of same said behavior. And where in the world was anyone threatened?
