  1. I have been looking at different weather websites an all of them show the storm coming here. I mean, RIGHT OVER ME! I am kinda freaked out actually. Frank is working tonight. Hopefully he will get home in the morning before it gets too bad. I guess it really dawned on me about how serious it could be when I got home a little while ago and saw that the landlord had removed every single trash can from our little community. I need to go outside and get Rapunzel and bring her in. She is my Ivy that the guys at work gave me when I 'retired'. She has really long hair (vines), so I named her Rapunzel. The good news is that the astros are beating the cubs...
  2. Too late Kat-she is already a "helper". If I am n the kitchen, so is she. If I get up to GO to the kitchen she is right behind me asking "what are we gonna do now momma?" We just got home from going to buy a few more things for the storm supplies. People are lined up at the gas pumps like you would not believe! On the news a little while ago they were interviewing the light company rep and she said to be prepared to be out of service for 2 weeks or longer. HUH? Oh well, I am being pessimistic (sp?). Anything could happen with that darn storm overnight. I will give you all an update before I go to bed cause I know you are all very concerned about us Texas gals well being:blushing: . Tornados are what worry me....
  3. That is fantastic...thanks Michelle  Let me know about the postage so I can get it back to ya'.
  4. Pamela-I e-mailed it to you just now AND I also got some ice and the coolers ready:biggrin: Believe one thing, if our light are off too long, I am goin to MOMS! TracyK - a/c = a cranky violet
  5. Thanks Pamela! LOL, I love getting tips on hurricane preparedness from someone living in Cali! LOL You crack me up!
  6. I am quite sure he would have his hands full with just me let alone all of us. He would pull his hair out....wait, he doesn't have any! Problem solved!
  7. I never heard of a plugged up cat...
  8. Terry-our elders could handle it cause they did not know any better. By the way, have you EVER seen a really old picture where the woman is actually smiling? LOL I have a pic of my grandma, great grandmother and GREAT GREAT.....and NONE of them are smiling! The thought of the lights going out is freaking me out actually. It is supposed to be 101 today! EEEK  I am leaving to go get some batteries, Water and a can opener. If our lights go out, I do not have a manual can opener! Oh, plus I am gonna get some ice. Check with you all later!
  9. Good morning violets- Jenn-do you throw up every morning or something? You made it sound like a regular thing. Terry-yep, the storm is hitting here early tomorrow morning. God I hope our lights don't go out. I guess if that is the least of my problems I'll be doing good, right? They have already evacuated Cameron Parish since so many people bought trailers after Rita, they are being cautious. Pamela-I am so sorry about your dad. (((hugs))) I lost my dad as well in '99 to brain cancer. My mother is alive and well and I speak with her daily. She is my best friend. It is so sad to think of the people that do not say what is in their hearts before its too late. That has always been my on fear, so I make sue I OVER do it! Better too much than not enough! Suzie-we did not get a drop of rain from Dolly...this is a totally different story though. I think we are in for some bad stuff! Michelle-thank you for making me thankful for my uneventful day today  It could be worse, right? LOL Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'll bet Laura & Tracy are having fun!
  10. Tropical Storm Edouard....great, I'll bet it will be a hurricane by morning! We need some rain but SHEEESH! Supposed to make landfall somewhere around here on Tuesday. Could be worse...at least I do not think it is something we'll have to evacuate for!
  11. Jane-I know that is how I am too...I never check the easy stuff first...I guess I just figure it can not be easy!! lol
  12. Jane-maybe I can help....is the TV on?
  13. Terry~thanks, I needed that Jane-I wish I had one  Maybe Santa will bring me one?!
  14. Yesterdays pie hole ereport (better late than never) Oatmeal & coffee ALOT of popcorn with 5 gallons of melted butter (at the movies) Peanut M&Ms Oatmeal again for dinner cause of the guilt from earlier! Good morning everyone! I sure hope everyone had/is having fun! *this next part I am just thinking out loud. Feel free to skip it* I just do not get it. I do so well for 2 or 3 days then in a day or 2 I ruin my progress. It ends up making me stay the same weight. At least I have gotten to where I am not completely sabatoging myself. I am not gaining anymore so that is a good thing but I mean really....what is the deal?! I guess I need to try harder on the one day at a time part. Instead of thinking that this is a short term problem, I need to realize that it is a complete lifestyle change. You would think that by now I would realize that, right? I mean, I could keep doing what I am doing and stay 203 but tht is not what I want! I want to get back where I was and stay THERE. I could kick my own ass all the way to Palm Springs and back (and say hi to Pamela while I was there). But really, the past is the past and the great part is I CAN undo what I have done. Now if I would just practice what I preach then all will turn out hunky-dorey . Lord, I wear myself out mentally. Maybe if I can just forgive myself for gaining some of my weight back I can move on from there. Hmmm, how can I forgive myself for that? I will think about that. OK I am done with that.... Here is to good choices TODAY....
  15. LOL JUDY!!! that must be it!
  16. Pamela-if you are going to the beach what do you need to put on make-up for? LOL
  17. Good morning everyone~ Just popping in to say hello. I am leaving in a few minutes with macy to go look for school clothes. UGH, I would rather be beaten. I would much rather go today instead of waiting until later when there are only leftovers to pick through. Wish me luck, she is hard to buy clothes for. When they fit in the waist, the crotch normally hangs to her knees :wink2: Have a great day everyone!
  18. Judy-I am a huge James Patterson fan! Speaking of along came a spider, I just found the DVD of the movie (which I had never seen) on the 5 dollar sale rack. Oooh, it was good! I have read all of his Alex Cross detective novels and am patiently waiting until September when the next one in the series comes out....in the meantime he started a "womens murder club" series and so far there are 7 books. I had 2, 3 and 4 (from a paperback swap shop) waiting in the wings until I could get the first book. I broke down and went to Barnes and Noble and bought #1 so I could start that series. I will wait about a week or so then go and get 5, 6 and 7. I will probably be caught up with that whole series in a month or so. If you read more I could send you my books! Laura-I am so sorry about the CRAP you are going through! That is total BS. You are gonna be SO ready for that trip! ((hugs)) Terry-have you been in here today? I hope all is OK on your end of town! Kat-it is HOT here too. Macy and I started out on our walk and turned around and came home. It was just too much! Jane-I wish I still had my treadmill :cursing: Haydee-try to get some R&R this weekend! Pamela-I would like to read that book you just got too. I take second hand books by the way (hint hint):biggrin2: Have a great night everyone!!
  19. Pamela-I'll just let you & Terry read your books and give us reviews:tongue2:
  20. WAY TO GO LAURA!!!
  21. Have a great time everyone with whatever you are doing and where ever you are going this weekend....think about me
  22. I can not stand to even look at jessie....too many muscles
  23. By the way, I have had: 1 slice of whole grain toast 1 egg 1 slice of cheese (and coffee of course)
  24. Good morning violets~ So it is easy to see that Suzie is a 'plan ahead' kind of gal. lol I wish I were talented enough to make presents! Jane-I was told by the dr that we can not take any pills with anti-inflammatories (nsaids, like advil, motrin, aleve, etc). Not exactly sure why, I just followed instructions and did not ask. Well, that is a lie, I am kinda like Laura and I DO take the occasional advil (since my band is not too tight, I know it will slide right down). Pamela & Jane-If you want jessie to get eliminated, raise your hand  He is SO full of himself! I voted for Rennie to get Americas player, LOL. I need to get off here and head out for our morning walk. It is probably already 90 outside....bbl
