Compressions do wonders. LolHonest to goodness, you do a dang good job of hiding this "supposed" loose skin! Haha! Awesome job girl!

I had what was supposed to be my final DR appointment before my sleeve was scheduled. I had an EGD last week. The DR found my reflux was really bad and he strongly suggested I switch from sleeve to bypass b/c of the refulx. He said it can get much worse when you have such a tiny tummy b/c you produce the same amount of acids as when you have a large tummy so it feels much worse. Anyone have experience on this?
I had reflux before the surgery due to obesity & poor diet.... But none since the sleeve.

Happy birthday!!! You look AH-MAY-ZING!!!!!! This gives me so much hope since I'm a few inches taller. Your legs are so fit, belly is flat & your arms look great too!! I'm so afraid of loose skin! I can't stress enough how great you look, girl!! What is your exercise regimen?
Thank you thank you!!
Flat belly??? Haha. No. But I'm looking forward to plastics.... Hopefully sometime next year. Hoping to get rid of some of this loose skin.
I do cardio maybe once per week. I lift weights most days. I do yoga 1-2 times per week as well.

Thanks everyone!
@proudgrammy- I'm surprised y'all could go on without me. LOL. And thank you! I certainly will enjoy myself.

I use Flintstones Complete. I'm nearly 1.5 years out and completely healthy.
I just had bloodwork done last week... The only thing abnormal was my "high" B 12 level... Imagine that! LOL

Hey everyone! I feel like I've been away for awhile... But I wanted to post some updated before/during pics.
Just to catch up.....
My name is Misty. I had my VSG (sleeve) done June 2013. My highest weight was 245lbs. I've lost apporox 119 lbs (ignoring today's weight bc the past few days have been "cheat WEEKEND" LOL). For the most part, I eat very well (I've given up rice, bread, potatoes, Pasta, and a few other things I've deemed unworthy to be in my little tummy). I enjoy my gym time very much & consider myself somewhat of a "gym rat."
Tonight is my last cheat meal (today is my birthday!) -- which will consist of my first piece of pizza since my surgery and a piece of Godiva chocolate I purchased for the occasion.
Beginning tomorrow will be a strict ban on all things bad for me... Back to "normal" life, which I quite enjoy. I'm hoping to drop just a few more pounds in the next 6 months, then planning for plastics.
Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Please understand that this is a huge possibility after weight loss. I was 25 when I had surgery - no children - took care of myself and skin very well - and I'm a gym rat... But my skin is very saggy & wrinkled on my belly as well as under my arms and my inner thighs.

I hate it.

I think it would be so fun, but as a single woman... I feel kinda silly or odd about it. I mean, i don't really have an audience for them.
I promise it was more for me than it was for him. Lol

can't wait to see the photos!
I posted them several months ago, but I don't know how to paste that thread here. Sorry.

Congrats on the loss and on that beautiful blood pressure!!
I still eat no more than 4 oz at a time (snacks are usually 2oz). And I eat about 6 times per day- at least 2 hours apart.
I never really time my drinking.
Worst habit: I forgot to chew a shrimp yesterday, that didn't feel too good. Lol.
And I'm lazy about my Water intake while at work (actually I work in a pretty busy setting and sometimes just can't.) but I'm getting better- all my coworkers are making an effort to drink more water-- which is pretty cool!
And I like Protein suppliements a bit too much... Yeah, crazy.

Not what I wanted to hear lol! How much weight did you lose? Has your skin tightened up at all as time has gone on?
Nothing has tightened up (just gets more loose as I lose) but I'm only a year and 2 months out. I doubt it will. It's pretty saggy. I'm trying to fill some of the extra space with biceps and quads. LOL. I'm sure I'll be getting a TT for the belly though.
I lost about 115 lbs.

My PCP told me I'd have to check my thyroid level more often after surgery bc sometimes thyroid medication isn't absorbed as well after bariatric surgery. Luckily for me, so far my levels have stayed the same and my dose hasn't changed.
Your doctor may have to adjust your dose.

So, this is do-able. But I agree with the above, I would not give yourself a time limit. But here's MY advice on eating (take it, or leave it): do whatever is realistic for YOU. for example, if you are someone who could NEVER give up potatoes, then why do it temporarily? You would set yourself up for failure later in the process.
For me, giving up rice/bread/pasta was a realistic goal... I still don't eat or want those foods.
Here's the absolute BEST advice given to me--- Always UNDEREAT your sleeve (this can go for any WLS). There are so many posts about eating a cup of rice or multiple slices of pizza.... Why?? If your limit is "x" why are you going above that??? My limit is 4 oz and thats what I eat... Sometimes less, but never more.
And, of course, Protein first.
