March 2013 Sleevers... What are you eating?

I was sleeved 3/29. Down 34 lbs. went through a 3 week stall which was TOUGH! Just came out of the stall with 4 pounds lost. Oatmeal, Greek yogurt or egg for breakfast, string cheese snack, small piece of baked fish or protein shake for lunch, fruit or a little hummus for afternoon snack, and a bite of whatever protein the family has for dinner. Walking helps a lot!

    Stupid stall

7 weeks out and my second stall. My cycle is all messed up too, so i'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not either. Hoping to get past this soon!! Good luck.....
  3. Sleeved 3/29 - 30 pounds down, 6 weeks out. SW 287. These first few weeks were rough... still having trouble judging how much to eat and overeat at times which makes me feel sick. Felt like I had more restriction in the beginning than now, but I think its just my body not providing me the clues that it will in the future.
  4. Yes my dr had to cut some of my pouch off while he was in there.

    Where is aunt flo?

Thank god now I feel like its normal after reading these posts. I was sleeved march 27 and had a spot about a week later and now just started and its a doozy. And of course gained a couple of pounds water weight which I'm hoping will go away soon
  6. I'm 5'3 and started at 287.5 week before surgery. I gained 18 lbs while in the hospital. Went to the one month appointment with the NP yesterday and have lost 28.5 lbs. NP was thrilled b/c I was lapband to sleeve revision and she said that weight loss was awesome b/c usually lapband to sleeve revisions lose slower. Labwork was perfect too. I'm hoping that this keeps up!

    Fluid retention from surgery

I gained 18 lbs of fluid while I. The hospital & it came off in about a week and a half. Be patient it will come off eventually!
  13. Sleeved 3/29 down 20lbs but no movement on the scale last 5-6 days. 75 G protein/day with 2 protein shakes. Still on restricted diet no meats yet. Walking 20-30 min every other day.
  14. I had the band removed and the sleeve done at the same time on 3/27. Experienced the same issue with swelling and had to go back to surgery 2 days later. I'm 3 weeks tomorrow (count the 2nd surgery date, not the first) and still on soft/mushy but that's my dr's plan for all of his patients. Down 20 lbs.

    Band :-(

I had my band for 6 years and converted to the sleeve 3/27. The band was removed and the sleeve done all in one day. I didn't have any band issues, no slips or anything, just chronic gastritis which really didn't bother me. I initially lost 45 pounds with the band but gained it all back plus more. When I converted, post op I had a lot of swelling, which the dr had warned me there could be some complications before hand, and it wound up that I couldn't swallow anything, it even my own saliva. So two days post op went back to or to fix the problem. That's when the swelling was found and because of it my stomach had pushed up through my diaphragm completely cutting off the opening. In the first surgery he had over stitched the staple line to try to prevent the chance of a leak so he had to remove those sutures, put in a bigger bougie, and then he re-stitched not so tightly. He also found a portion of my stomach that had ballooned out somewhere above where the Lapband had been and had to remove that. Needless to say, I was so relieved when I came out and could swallow! There are lots of people on here who converted in one day with no issues. I just wanted to let you know that sometimes complications do occur, which is why some drs won't convert all in one day.

    Where is my March Sleeves?

I had a lot of swelling and my stomach herniated up into the chest, closing it off. I couldn't swallow anything. I had the Lapband removed also which contributed to the swelling. So I went back two days later and he pulled the stomach back out and had to remove the sutures where he had over stitched the staples to try and prevent a leak. He also found a part of my stomach that he somehow missed during the first surgery which had herniated above where the Lapband had been so he cut that out too the second time. It was all screwed up. I was just so thankful I could swallow after all that!
