  1. I stopped losing at six months. I was very upset and it took a while to get back on track but I've managed to lose another 10 pounds (yes it took me six months to lose 10 lbs) for a total of 80 lbs the old me would have given up but not the new me. May 14th will be my one year surgerversary I've been through so many stalls that I've lost track. I just see them as time to recalculate, try a different direction. I walked six miles today . One year ago I could barely walk around the block. I try to focus on that instead of the numbers on the scale. Don't be discouraged , you can do this.
  2. I hope things will get better for you soon.
  3. Good luck and speedy recovery
  4. I just took a break from cleaning my closet! Went from. 24/26 to 12/14. It was packed full of clothes thAt still had the tags on them. I tried to shop for some new clothes but The problem is that nothing really fits right. I guess things will even out eventually
  5. I'm May 14 th down 70 lbs Nothing for 2 months I don't know if I should eat more or eat less. I'm at 1000 cal
  6. Ten years, wow! It does encourage me. You are so right about people talking no matter what size you are. I felt like an open wound before surgery. Everything hurt my feelings. Since surgery I've gains so much confidence and so proud that I'm finally taking care of myself.
  7. It's your sign to stop eating. I would get the hiccups and then later a runny nose, both signs for me to stop eating.
  8. Very helpful post, thank you.
  9. Yay....congratulations!
  10. My surgeon uses a 38 because he over sews to avoid leaks and it becomes a 36
  11. You will be fine! Speedy recovery and ready for all the good things coming your way.
  12. Interesting. Do you think that's his way of food policing ?
  13. I agree. Definitely a power issue. Good advise on how to react.
  14. I get food policed all the time. Sometimes I ignore it but sometimes it really gets to me. For example when my sister told me I was eating terribly and that she had just lost 7 lbs without even dieting! Same person who recommended the VSG to me because a friend of hers had been successful with it and then after I had the surgery told me I took the "easy way out". Seriously, do I laugh or cry?
  15. Thank you for this post. I was feeling a little down because of some negative comments from people around me . There is so much judgement out there . Sometimes I feel like I can't win . Before the surgery I was judged because I was too fat. After the surgery I was judged because I had surgery to lose weight and "Took the easy way out " EASY my butt! Ugh makes me crazy.
  16. The parking garage attendant walks over the my car, opens my door and greets me with "hello beautiful". People actually hold doors, look at me and have normal conversations! All the things people without weight issues or disabilities take for granted. Makes the heart a little lighter.
  17. Starting weight: 264 Current weight: 204 Goal weight: 130 Thank you!
  18. At my first follow up visit, I complained to my doctor about my lack of energy. He said it was because I was not moving enough ( he kind of scolded me about it). The more you lay around the less energy you will have. I thought I was recovering waiting to get better. Who knew? I started exercising more and , I hate to admit it, but he was right. I felt better right away. I'm 3 months post op now and I find on the days I exercise I feel better and the scale moves too! I hope you feel better soon.
