So I received a "get well" present from an old co- worker while I'm home recovering from revision surgery from band to sleeve. It was a box of chocolates!! I figured you all would get a laugh out of this one. Oh - she did know about the revision surgery also

You can still buy some and freeze them (if you have willpower to have them in your home) you can use them sparingly as a treat. I stopped using food as a treat though. I buy clothes, makeup ect... Anything not edible. That's just me though. If you don't think you will have the willpower to not eat a bunch then don't buy them. It's not worth it or buys some to give as gifts if you just want to help support.

Gorgeous!!! I'm almost a year post and down 122 pounds. It's so slow now and my BMI is still 32. Not sure I'll ever see 25. I think I'll be ok with that. Im not done yet but can't quite imagine another 50 coming off. Maybe in time? I don't know. But you define health, fitness and fab right where you are. Gorgeous!!!!

I dunno about you guys, but I'm 69 years old.
Do you know that the way I look today is probably the dewiest I will look for the rest of my life?
Compared to 5 years from now, 10 years, 15 years from now ... I look f**king AMAZING!
It is time-time-time-time-time-time for us to live in the present. Today really is all we ever have.
I wish I had a magic wand I could zap all you guys and me with that would help us constantly be aware of this. Living here and now truly is the secret to happiness -- not weighing 10 pounds less or having 5% less body fat.
After all, look at all the gifts and potential gifts we've already given ourselves by having WLS. Couldn't we just give ourselves this other gift, too?

Would I do it again? Yes!
What surprises me the most is now that I am almost 2 years post-op how easy it is to regain weight and how difficult it is to lose it again. Even so, I am very grateful to have had the surgery and very happy with the results!

@@feedyoureye you got it! We are so, so much better off! I've also come to the realization that I'm a perfectionist, ergo, I'll always find a way to self criticize, unless force myself not to. It's been a couple of weeks that I've consciously been making this decision to accept this weight and declare success, and I'm coming to the same conclusion as you. We need to enjoy the sun while it shines! You look great, too, and I appreciate your encouragement

I've been reading this thread and lurking in the background. I am trying to do this fasting but find that I feel ravenously hungry and end up snacking myself into oblivion. Sigh. Also trying to stay very low carb. I find the low carb thing difficult at times but not as hard for me as the fasting. For some reason it makes me feel very fatigued. Does anyone else experience this? Maybe it's just not for me. I am very frustrated with myself and my inability to lose the holiday weight gain. Just seems like I never had the surgery sometimes except I'm fighting from a much lower weight than before. Other than that it's just as frustrating.

Just catching up on everything you've been going through. I am so sorry that you care from the Dr's isn't what you asked for. I personally think you should start talking to a lawyer. That being said, don't start to sue until you are stabilized. If you sue your care could be even more compromised as then the Drs really won't want to help you. Also, make the appt at the mayo clinic and then continue to call and ask if the've got any cancelations or openings. Just keep advocating for yourself as best you can. If I lived in FL I would definitely come visit you in the hospital. Keeping you in prayer.

Well, If this was me, I would first sever all ties with current relationship before pursuing another one, with that being said if this man your going to meet for coffee is a good friend that's 1 thing...but I'm from the old school unless his wife knows you and knows that you two are friends and going to have coffee.than I wouldn't meet him. I don't believe nor condone cheating in any sense of the word...and if he leaves his current wife for your....he will leave you for another woman.
And if your in Therapy to help your relationship..why would you even think/dream of having coffee with another man. Fix or end the relationship your in now first.
Once a cheater always a cheater. Wrong...so very Wrong!!
Just my 2 cents of course.

Not good news. Keeping you in my prayers. Have you discussed the possibility of converting your sleeve to an RNY Bypass with the surgeon to see if would help? Just an idea cuz thats what the do if you have acid reflux that is extremely bad.

So sorry you are having such extreme reflux. I have issues with reflux too but not as severe. I had pre-surgery too but it got worse after my sleeve surgery which I knew was a risk. I am an opera singer and the reflux can really harm your vocal chords. Have you seen an ENT? Here's what I currently do. I take a Zantac at night when I go to bed. You can take two if you want which would be the prescription strength. I also take a Nexium in the morning and I add 1tbsp of organic apple cider vinegar (Braggs) to my first glass of Water and drink that down. The Zantac is an acid blocker, the Nexium an acid reducer and the apple cider vinegar helps populate your gut with the good bacteria that aid in digestion. You really need to discuss this with your Dr, especially of you are on other meds. Some people end up having to convert their sleeve to an RNY bypass because of their reflux.

Thanks for the update and good news that you are feeling better and seem to be on the mend. I am so sorry to hear the bad news of your wife's diagnoses. I will continue to hold you both in my prayers. If you are ever able to get any answers from the Dr about why all of this happened to you it would be nice to have that knowledge, Keep on and stay strong!

Thanks everyone. I do still get a minimum of 64oz of Water a day...usually 96oz. I only drink Water, no tea, no coffee, no soft drinks. I rarely even drink a beer any more due to the calories. This have gotten better since my post. I am still in a stall but I am defiantely back to eating correctly again and back to tracking everything on MyFitnessPal. That is a huge help. No I am eating my calories alotted but then my exercise and walking adds more calories available which I end up with unused calories at the end of the day.
