    Weight Stall

I went to a support group and the nutritionist told us that now that we weigh less, we need to increase our exercise. For example, we used to be able to burn 100 calories in 10 min of walking or elliptical. Well now, its only 75 calories because we weigh less. Stay the coarse on healthy eating, but up your intensity on your exercise. Also, this "stall" is common. Although we are not dropping rapid weight, over the coarse of a month, we drop the same. The scale might not move for 2-3 weeks, but then all of a sudden you lose 3-5 lbs. I had my surgery May 28, 2013. First 5 months, 10 lbs a month easy. Now its more like 5-8 lbs. Remember, you still want to lose it slowly. That is the overall most healthy!

Thank you I will check out that product. I have NO regrets about my sleeve, love every minute of it, except this part. LOL

    Hair Loss

Mine didn't start falling out until about 6 weeks after my surgery, and it was just coming out in clumps. I pretty much cut off all my hair so it would look a bit fuller. I have been paying more attention to my protein intake and taking my biotin.

    Hair Loss

I know it is a side effect, so it's not a surprise. I am just hoping someone out there found a product that they found to stimulate the regrowth of hair besides Rogaine. Fingers crossed!
  5. I am about 4 months out and my hair is still falling out. My hair was thin already and this is freaking me out a bit. I am on Biotin and eating as much healthy protein as possible. Any other tips out there or some topical treatment that works? Thanks!

    Sleeved May 28th

Same here, 5/28! I am down 30 lbs. I just went into my closet today, and was able to zip up pants I have not been able to get into in about 8 years! Granted, I still had extreme muffin top and could not bend, but just the fact I could zip them up made me gasp. This still seems unreal to me at times! Anyone else have that feeling?

When was your surgery? I am about 6 weeks out and cannot wait! Walking is all good, but I am looking forward to doing weights and stretching.

    No appetite.

I'm glad it's not just me. I am only 10 days out but have no desire to eat anything. Only thing I like is a few bites of sugar free applesauce, fat free refried beans and maybe some yogurt.
  9. The first 5 days were the worst. I could not tolerate anything but water. I tried to drink as much water as I could and walk around. It does get better!

    post op diet

I started having small bites of yogurt and refried beans. I felt like I was not taking in enough protein, the shakes were turning off my appetite. Just make sure you drink enough water!

Just got sleeved on tuesday the 28th

I could only tolerate water and pop cycles at first, Your body will let you know when it is safe to drink more. I am now starting on reduced fat cream soups, milk and broth. I am trying to maintain my protein levels. Im still weak because I know I have not consumed enough protein.
  12. I told certain people in my life, and it has been a life saver. Knowing you have that support will make your recovery process a lot better. Trust me. I just got sleeved Tuesday and knowing people are there if need be makes me relaxed so I can heal.

    May 2013 Sleevers!

Same here, I was sleeved Tuesday, and only tolerated water and sugar free popcicles. Today I was able to drink butternut squash soup and felt a lot better. I hope I am over my "weak" hump.

Just got sleeved on tuesday the 28th

I too, had surgery on the 28th. I just started passing today. It was so bad I was getting nauseated. I think the more walking around, the better. Last night I tried to roll on my side and that helped move the bubbles down. Besides being weak, this is my only true pain I have.
