  1. I had planned to get it, but for me it would have meant insertion in an O.R. Or wait until I lost more weight. Went with Mirena and love it!
  2. I buy the StarKist sweet & spicy and eat it straight from the pouch. Love it!
  3. I had half of a pancake last week on vacation (3 mos postop). So far it is the only food that has not sat well. I didn't throw up, but didn't feel well for at least an hour.
  4. Oh, I was close to tears many times...tears of joy after each PCP appt, the psych eval, going into surgery, etc. :-)
  5. I'm so sorry for what you've both gone through!! I'm just over a month in and so far the only side effect is mild acne. Crossing my fingers there is nothing on the horizon.
  6. I was also intubated, but it was in and out when I was unconscious.
  7. If the shot you are referring to is depo provera, be careful. I was on it for about 18 months in my 20's. I gained 50 pounds and didn't realize what a miserable, nasty b$&ch I was until I went off of it. It is different for everyone, but was horrible for me. Liz-what was your experience with Mirena?
  8. I went on the Mirena IUD two months after surgery. No complications and loving it so far.
  9. I was sleeved April 8. HW 305, SW 295, CW 246. Loving my sleeve, loving life. :-)
  10. I am so fortunate. My PCP specializes in weight management and was all for me getting sleeved. I did need to pick up records and fax then myself after multiple attempts by the office staff to get it right. A PCP that fits your needs can make a huge difference.
  11. Cami - I agree. I love that this tool helps to guide my decisions and limit my intake. If I am at a birthday party, I love that I can satisfy my craving with two bites of cake without icing instead of my previous huge slice of cake with icing and ice cream. My focus is protein, but if I've hit my protein and calorie goals for the week and want one Hershey kiss - I'm going to have one Hershey kiss. :-)
  12. There's a support group that meets at Barix in Ypsilanti the third Saturday of each month. I haven't been able to make it to one yet, but someday.
  13. I started tracking on MFP on Day 2. In almost three months post op now and it has helped tremendously.
  14. Images added to a gallery album owned by auntmissa1 in Before and After Gastric Sleeve Photos
auntmissa1, a weight loss surgery photo album by auntmissa1 on BariatricPal. 2 photos in Before and After Gastric Sleeve Photos.
  15. Each insurance company's requirements are different. I have Cigna and they required one nut appt (mine was over the phone).
  16. StarKist makes a ready made tuna salad pouch. Only 100 calories and super moist!
  17. I also drink Premier Protein. Love them!
  18. I'm in Canton, sleeved April 8. I'd love to join if you all get together!!
  19. I agree with John. I had a half serving of frosted mini wheats with a 1/4 of milk for breakfast one day this week and had to add in a protein shake later in the day to make up for the protein without a ton of calories. I would like to try Kashi though.
  20. I have zero drive 2+ months out and newly inserted with Mirena. Unfortunately my husband has no interest either, so we're more like roommates than husband and wife.
