Smoothies can't be all things at once, i.e. greens, fruit, protein, and dairy. Your better off picking two: fruit and veggies; dairy and protein, etc. Spinach is easier when you are first starting, kale can be a bit bitter at first. Dairy is tricky in smoothies with greens, fruit and OJ or water is a better base. Start with more fruit than greens the first few times and slowly change your ratio as your tastes adjust. Green smoothies are delicious but an acquired taste.

Kale in a smoothie... maybe for just a green smoothie, but I cant see it with milk or fruit at all. That's just me though! I drink greens daily, but it is a powder. Just mix with water. Very easy. Gives me tons of nutrients! Been doing it for years... but have not been sleeved yet. Next month is my month! Woo-hoo!!!

I do that too Firelle, when my bananas are starting to get dark and a little soft, I take them out of their skins and freeze them. Then when I want to make smoothies or protein shake they are ready.
Yummy!!!

Hmm, maybe try more yogurt. I used a cup of vanilla yogurt and a cup of soy/coconut milk in my smoothies pre-op, and no ice cubes. Instead, I cut the whole banana up into slices, put it in a ziploc, and froze it, then added it to the blender.

Good luck! My hubby wasn't all that on-board at the time I made the decision either, but once he went to the information seminar and got to talk to the surgeon a couple times at my appointments, he came around and is SO glad I did it. I'm 4 mos out and doing very well. I've lost quite a bit and fee great. You will do fine. If you have any questions....just ask! There are LOTS of us here who will be glad to help out as much as wel can.
