    OK,,,,,,Guys room.....Guy question.......
Guy answer...- sgc's reply above is basically it. No big deal. If you're used to being on your own before the surgery, you'll be fine after. If you have pain and continue to take pain meds.......use an alarm clock for the med schedule. Take advantage of the opportunity and get plenty of rest. Get outside and walk around often.
    All easily done by yourself.
The hospital is gonna make you have someone there to drive you home. That's pretty much all you need help with.

I was alone and did fine. I had someone drop me off at home. I had my prescriptions filled at the hospital. Went to bed early that night and was fine the next day.

I can't believe this post is still going. All this controversy and I'm not involved. I can't have that, I must get my two cents in.
Just yesterday the news was blasting all day about it being partly cloudy here. And there is just no way that is true. It was most certainly partly sunny. Nuff said.

It you're really concerned, by all means talk to your surgeon.

Recycled got a reaction from Cervidae in After sleeve when does Ghrelin start producing and at what rate? Does it return to preop levels?
Here's the other revelation I found out after losing the weight........New studies seem to point to the fact that rapid large weight losses can change your body's metabolism pertinently.
That after you lose the weight by consuming so many fewer calories per day......your new maximum daily calorie intake for maintenance at your goal weight will be much less than normal. Mine dropped from 3000 calories a day, which was considered average for someone of my goal weight to about 1700-1800. Any more and I started to gain. Figures......we just can't catch a break.
Hey, it is what it is.......I save a ton on food. No regrets here.

According to the studies I linked, it drops to almost nothing day 1 post op, increases slightly at 6 months, and at 12 months is close to pre-op but not quite there. I am sure that by year 2 it is almost back to normal.
In one study there was one unlucky person that has higher levels post op than pre-op at 1 year.

Another thing that one study noted was the Sleeve and the Bypass have the same reduction levels. The band offers absolutely no ghrelin decrease at all.
I'm a year out and I still barely ever feel hungry and to feel hungry I have to go over 12 hours without eating, and at that point anyone would be hungry.

When I was in the hospital for my WLS, they wouldn't release me cause my tests indicated the same thing. I made them do the test over two more times which came back normal. I wouldn't get worked up about it.
Probably just a skewed test. Wait a while and redo the test or as @@KristenLe said above......get further tests done.

While I get what the controversy on the whole 15-30 grams thing is all about......if someone does in fact have a product that can effectively amount to an end result of more absorption per gram than the others.....exactly how would you market it so the consumer can relate to the benefits. If it is not apples for apples, it can't be compared the same.
Example - Take a car that travels at 50 mph for a distance of 30 miles to a destination. However the engine is very inefficient and only gets 10 miles per gallon using 3 gallons of gas to get there.
Along comes another vehicle that is much more efficiently tuned and travelling at the same 50 mph, gets 30 miles to the gallon and only uses one gallon of gas.
Result - same distance, same speed 1/3 less gas. ergo: same grams of Protein, less product.
All I'm saying is, I get their principle and can use the product accordingly. If I get good results, I'll continue to use it.
Besides, everything else I've tried tastes like crap......and this is tasteless.

What is there to regret......there was nothing I liked about being fat. Obesity was a disease that was going to kill me and I simply had treatment to help rid myself of that disease. Now I live a lifestyle to help prevent it's return.

I'm two and half years out and have experienced the bounce and weight gain as well. It's hell getting it off.
And to all those newly sleeved or early on offering advice.........thanks for the well intended advice, but it's not the same as at the beginning. We know and have already tried all the usual stuff.
I feel for @@stefaniwg and what she is going thru. It is frustrating this far out when we think that we already KNOW what to do and then no matter what we do, it no longer works. I was at my wits end trying to lose some extra pounds, when I got sick from some unknown bug and lost 12 pounds. I'll take it however I can.
Now I watch the pounds even more closely to avoid gaining.
So, just food for thought newbies.......it may not be easy street farther out.......pay close attention.
