Divorce rate..post op
Pixie Dust replied to Mrs.FullerRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We can't change people, no matter what we think. Give it your absolute "ALL" before making any permanent decisions. I guess kind of like before you were sleeved, right? Do what you have to do to be happy tho in the end. No sense in staying with someone who makes you absolutely miserable AFTER you've tried everything. This way there are no regrets. Good luck to you. -
You crack me up!

I had to laugh when I read your post because I DID try hypnosis. I thought it worked too but on the way home from that session, I stopped at a local pie shop & had a piece of pie...soooooo I might have well set a match to that $50 I spent on hypnosis! LOL!

My story is pretty much like Cowgirl Jane's. I tried everything & there was nothing left & I felt I was running out of time (or life), so I closed my eyes & jumped in! Good luck on your decision!

Need help to post pics of me
Pixie Dust replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Oh, I already have a pic up in my profile but just wanted to know how to post a pic of myself AFTER I start to look somewhat normal. Now how do I post a pic in this area here? RJ's/beginning ~ you're beautiful! Glad to meet ya! -
I'm in shock.... Not Happy...
Pixie Dust replied to trudyjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had an abnormal EKG at my PCP's office so they scheduled me for a chemical stress test. That came out fine. I think EKG's are inaccurate anyway. My best friend had an EKG done at her doc's office one day & all was perfect & the next day she suffered a massive heart attack. :-( I'm so grateful they did a chemical stress test on me because that is much more reliable! I think it's great that they are making sure you're in good enough health to have this surgery. Don't be scared, just be positive & all will work out fine. -

Disneyland trip - 5 weeks Post-Op
Pixie Dust replied to Cyndie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you Stace! I had forgotten about menus being on that site! We go to Disney World for Christmas each year & this time we're going a week earlier for my son to check out colleges so this will come in handy when I want to check out what food I should order ahead of time! I'll be able to eat anything by then but trying to keep it real! -

Tons of questions now...
Pixie Dust replied to cheeze82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess I was one of the lucky ones then....the only time I hadn't gone was right after surgery. I didn't go for 3 days but wasn't consuming much of anything & I didn't feel "heavy" or anything. Never felt like I had to go....then the 4th day I did. All has been fine since. Good luck to you! -
That does sound & look delish! Thanks for sharing!! I'm gonna try it & I'm all for taking AmandaRae's fat card away! Who doesn't love mayo, sour cream or ranch dressing???!!! You shame us!

I don't think anyone will put you in front of the firing squad for doing so! Hope you at least enjoyed it!

5wks out and 40lbs gone!
Pixie Dust replied to need2bthin!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only have that problem if I eat or drink too fast, then it feels like everything is stuck in my chest. If I eat slower, I don't have that problem. -
I'll be 4 weeks out on Tuesday & I haven't tried an egg yet....but I can tell you what I've been able to eat, to see if our eating coincides? I've had chicken nuggets...can only eat 2. I have eaten pieces of cut up grilled chicken breast (bought at costco, already cooked, just need heating), & I can only eat 4 pieces of the cut up chicken & I had a 1/3 cup of over cooked cauliflower. I made a grilled ham & cheese for my son & he couldn't finish his sandwich & since I had nothing prepared for my lunch, I ate the 1/4 remaining of his sandwich & I was stuffed. I can eat 1 whole greek yogurt, or a 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes, 1 package of cream of wheat, or 1 package of oatmeal (& in both I mix in about 3 tablespoons of no sugar added apple sauce for flavor.) So how does that sound in comparison to what you can eat?

Bigger than the rest....
Pixie Dust replied to MrsAnders's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know you weren't asking me, but if I may butt in again.....I've only lost 30 lbs & I have already been taken off my diabetes meds & the knee that needs replacing is hurting me a lot less! So for me, there was a health improvement after only 30 lbs...imagine at 70 or more! -
Bigger than the rest....
Pixie Dust replied to MrsAnders's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just recently sleeved (will be one month on Tuesday) so I don't know the answers to your questions BUT if you don't have the surgery, where will you be in another 6 months to a year? Will you weigh the same or more or will you lose weight? That's how I approached my surgery. Where will I be 6 months or a year from now if I don't have it? I think you'll be surprised at what you'll be able to lose. It's really amazing how little you will eat & feel full. Will you get to goal? Who knows....but if you do nothing, will you get to goal? You're so young, I wouldn't hesitate. I'm 53 & so wish I had done this at least 10 years ago. You're already ahead of the game with all the support you have. I didn't really have much support because I didn't want to tell anyone, but that was my decision. My husband & BFF knew but not many more than that. Those that did know were very supportive. If you've read here, not all people that were sleeved or going to be sleeved have had much support. Take it & run! As my doctor told me when I told him that I was considering Weight Loss Surgery, he was very happy for me & said "you're going to buy back at least 20 years!" From his mouth to God's ears! This could save your life. Don't hesitate. Blessings to you! -
Some days it seems like nothing can go right....been there many times, so I understand. But I just looked at your weight ticker so I'm thinking a trip to the bathroom mirror (MAKE TIME) to look at your new figure should put a smile on your face! Remember even skinny people gain a bit of weight & then they work hard at getting it off, so don't worry, it will come off. Also remember the more Water your drink, the more your body will shrink! Have a peaceful & blessed day! Smile! It'll make people wonder what you're up to! Hehe!

What wonderful news! Congratulations to you! Blessings to you & your new son! -
That salesperson should be written up for that. Truthfully, she should be FIRED but I'm going to be a christian & say she should be talked to & then written up for it. How DARE she??!!! Good for you for walking back in. I tend to shoot (my mouth off) first & then ask questions, but you did good cause you thought it thru & went to the manager. **Standing ovation!**

The difference in your face is amazing! What a pretty girl you are too! I also happen to adore cats!! I had surgery the same day & am only down 18 lbs since surgery but a total of 31 lbs. Well, at least I'm going in the right direction! Congratulations to you! -
Am I in the honeymoon stage?
Pixie Dust replied to ElaineB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so excited for you! I had my surgery 4 weeks ago tomorrow & I unfortunately don't feel exactly "giddy", as you say. I wish I did! I'm mourning food right now. Like tonight I made a yummy dinner for my family, with Pasta (my absolute favorite food) & I ate a couple of strands of angel hair pasta & it felt too heavy, so I was sad I couldn't eat it, BUT I am excited when I step on the scale to see how much I've gone down! That part makes me giddy, especially looking at being in the 260's which I haven't been since before I gave birth to my 11 y/o son! Ha! I guess I'll feel more giddy once I start fitting into the clothes I have packed away in a wardrobe closet in my basement. I stored some favorite things I couldn't donate once I no longer fit into them. Once again tho, I'm so very happy for you & I hope your giddiness rubs off on me! -

I feel your pain! I bought some new cute "blingy" tops for a cruise I took back in October. I only wore 1 out of the 4 I purchased & now they're already too big on me. Since I had planned on wearing them, I cut the tags off & washed them so they'd be nice & fresh so I can't even sell them as new. I guess I'll just donate them, even tho we're in a financial mess. Or maybe I'll try ebay? That's what my son tells me to do. Good luck on selling your items!
