    Sitting at my desk....

I don't know if this is allowed or not but can you add a 1/4 tspn of a flavored extract to your drink & mix it well? Like Banana flavor or some sort of fruit flavor so it will go down easier?

    Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter to you too! I haven't been sleeved yet, nor do I have a date, so won't talk about what I may have today. We're going out to dinner since it's just the 4 of us. I haven't had lamb since my Mom passed away in more than 10 years! That roasted butternut squash sounds awesome!!

    2 months progress

You look fabulous already adub22! What really has been making an impression on me is noticing in all the before & after pics how much YOUNGER everyone looks! Just when I think I'm crazy thinking of having this procedure/lifestyle change done, I get encouraged again looking at everyone's pics! Thanks for sharing with us!
  9. You are very sweet TTL, thank you!

    Sitting in ER

OMGoodness...good luck to you! Keep us informed!
  11. That's exactly the reason I love this site! I have learned so much more here than anything I've been told or asked the bariatric nurse. I just hope when it's my turn, I don't forget all that I've read! Good luck to you! I have enough vision problems as it is since I have a blocked tear duct & my eyes tear all the time. Looks like I'm constantly crying...so everything is blurry all the time. My issue will involve surgery & I'm just not ready for that right now. Something about installing stints where the blocked canal is. EEK! I get nervous enough just applying eyeliner!
  12. Exactly as others have said, you look so much younger! You have such a pretty smile too! You look wonderful! Enjoy the new you!

    Sleeved March 27

You sound great! I hope I'm as lucky as you! Good luck on your journey!
  14. I don't even have a surgery date yet but I've been hanging on to an ad I found in a magazine, or maybe it was in one of the coupon inserts that are in Sunday's paper....can't remember, but it's called an Invisible Tummy Trimmer. It looks like a tube top you'd wear from just under your bust line to just past your waist. I have no idea how this product is. I'm not endorsing it, I'm just stating that I found this ad & I kept the paper from it thinking that I may want to wear one until I'm ready to hang free (haha)! You know how it is, some of these products are junk but it's just something I'm keeping as a sample & maybe I will look for something like this at a store to see if I can find something comparable even at a medical supply store. I'm thinking they may carry something like that for surgery patients. IDK.....but I just hate ordering anything thru the mail & then be dissappointed & have to return it (minus shipping & handling which sometimes is almost as much as the product!) Hope you find what you're looking for!

    Long Beach, CA

I'd be all too happy to move back to CA to be that person for you! Unfortunately, I live in the Detroit area now. Yuck. I'd be surprised if you can't find an exercise buddy there. When I lived in L.A., seems that everyone I knew was into exercising! Good luck to you!

    No More Advil.....EVER!

That's what I'm worried about too. I take 200 to 400 mgs of Ibuprofen every day for my bone on bone arthritis on my knee, & for the arthritis in my hands & back. I need a knee replacement but want to wait till I lose some weight so I won't be such a burden on my husband if he needs to help me get around the first couple weeks. I had tried Tylenol 3 a while back (that's the tylenol with codeine, right?) If that's the same as I'm thinking of, it keeps me awake. I had asked my family physician about ibuprofen after I have my surgery & he said once my tummy has healed, I can take 1 or 2 of the 200 mg pills with some pill to coat my tummy first but he said it's best not to take any anti-inflammatory after the sleeve. I tried to stop taking them & lasted 2 days. I was walking all crippled over & needed my cane & was in sheer pain for 48 hours until I saw my doc & he asked me why I was torturing myself before I had a surgery date? I have to stop 10 days prior to surgery. I really don't know how I'm going to get thru the pain. Tylenol has never been of any help to me. I have to say, I'm surprised to hear of all the people that take ibuprofen on a daily basis! Thought it was just me!

    infected incisions

That sounds so awful! I'd be scared to pull on anything! Maybe I didn't hear right but I thought I heard the bariatric nurse say that my doctor uses some sort of glue instead of stitches. Is that possible or did I not hear correctly? I haven't had surgery yet, hoping for this summer.

    Post op clear liquids!

That's what I'm freaked out about the liquid diet pre-op. I still have to cook for my family but my husband is such a saint, he said they can just have sandwiches. How can I do that to my kids? But I may get some frozen type foods that my teen son can make for the family. My husband is a saint but he just learned how to use the toaster last year (seriously). I want to wish you the best of luck. Don't feel alone as we're all in this together, especially those of us that have families that depend on us to cook for them.
  24. Hi, I'm going to report this now but I wanted to share what I received in my private messages box. Just wanted you all to be aware of this crap being sent to me & possibly to others. How do they find us??? Here goes & it's from "Pam4Life" Hello Dear, How are you? I hope you are fine, if so glory be to God. I am writing this letter with due respect since we have not known or met ourselves. I want to find out if it's possible for you to deal with individual as to investment . I came across your profile today so I took it and prayed over it that is how I pick an interest getting across to you in respect of investment at my disposal. I will be so much glad if you can allow me and lead me to the right channel towards your assistance to my situation now. I will make my proposal well known if I am given the opportunity. I would like to use this opportunity to introduce my self to you. my name is Pamela Beka from Ivory coast. presently I am residing in the Church camp here in Dakar Senegal as a result of the civil war that was fought in my country. I am 23 years old girl. my late father Dr.Solomon Beka, was the managing director of Gold and Diamond mine company in my country before the rebels attacked our house one early morning and killed my father along side with my mother. It is only me that is alive now and I managed to move to nearby country Senegal where I am living today. In this camp we are only allowed to go out only on Mondays and Fridays of the week. it's just like one staying in the prison and I hope by God grace I will come out here soon. I don't have any relatives now whom I can go to all my relatives ran away in the middle of the war the only person we have now is Reverend pastor Steve Williams, who is the pastor of the (Christ The King Church) here in the camp he has been very nice to me since I came here but I am not living with him rather I am leaving in the women hostel because the camp have two hostels one for men the other for women. The Reverend pastor's telephone number is (+221779652638) if you call and tell him that you want to speak with me he will send for me in the hostel to come and speak with you. as a refugee here I don't have any right or privileged to any thing be it money or whatever because it is against the law of this country. I want to go back to my studies because I only attended my first year in university before the tragic incident that lead to my being in this situation today. please dear, listen to this, I have my late father's statement of account and death certificate here with me which I will send to you latter, because when he was alive he deposited some amount of money in a leading bank which he used my name as the next of kin, the amount in question is $3.8M(three million eight hundred thousand dollars). so I will like you to help me transfer this money to your account and from it you can send some money for me to get my traveling documents and air ticket to come over there in your country to meet you. I kept this secret to people in the camp here the only person that knows about it is the Reverend pastor because he is like a father to me. so in the light of above I will like you to keep it to yourself and don't tell it to anyone for I am afraid of loosing my life and the money if people knows about it. remember I am giving you all this information due to the trust I deposed on you with every confidence on your acceptance to assist me or adopt me as your daughter and manage the money for me. I like honest and understanding people, truthful and someone of vision, truth and hardworking. please, as soon as I receive your reply and your information's, I will give you the contact of the bank where the money was deposited by my late father so that you will contact the bank on how to transfer the money to your account in your country, hoping to receive your reply. meanwhile I will like you to call me like I said I have a lot to tell you, please via my personal email....( pam_beka1@yahoo.com ) have a nice day and think about me. awaiting to hear from you soonest yours sincerely, Pamela. So, just a word of warning for people NOT to fall for this stuff, if you have found one in your private message box too. Just a Public Service Announcement! Reply
