  1. Cold water always hurt my pouch! I drank room temperature water. I can drink cold water now. Although sometimes it will still feel a lttile weird. I'm 9 months out!
  2. yes, water makes my stomach hurt! If it is cold it seems worse. My Doc said it would get better. I hope so.
  3. I have had very little hair loss so far but I have noticed some strands starting to fall out. I will be 3 months out on July 3rd. My problem is my skin is peeling. I looked up on line and it is caused by dehydration and vitamin deficiency. (oh no!) Going to call my Doc. tomorrow. Not very good with my protein. I HAVE to get better. Not enough fluids either. Liquid makes my pouch hurt. Anyone else have this problem?
  4. WLS is just a tool! After you have the surgery you are not hungry and you sure can't eat very much at all. You have 1year to practice good eating habits and lose a ton of weight. Ultimately it is up to you. I had surgery on April 3rd and as of today I have lost 60 pounds. I have 38 more to go. Being thin and losing weight feels better than over eating to me.
  5. I took a bite and swallowed it. It did ok! One bite was my limit! I try all sorts of things except for sweets. No sugar for me!

  12. I am still at 1oz of protein. I am 8wks out and my nut. told me today if you throw up that you have either eaten too much or too fast! I don't know but I have only thrown up once when I ate 1 shrimp too many!
  13. I weigh every morning but not during the day. I really want to weigh once a week but I find myself on the scale every morning.
  14. I personally do not think any of the sugar substitutes are good for you!
  15. Your protein shakes count has your liquid too. Yes popsicles, broth and jello count as liquids.
  16. I ate soft foods the third day after surgery and continued for 6 weeks.
  17. I have been anemic for the couple of years. I got an iron infusion about a year ago and so far it has kept my iron and blood count up. I am 8weeks post op and still doing good with my iron. Hope this helps. Everyone is different. Take the advice of your Doctor.

  21. I was never on liquids after day two in the hospital. On day three they served my chicken salad and a canned pear. I have done fine on food. Did not have to do purred at all. It is a good idea to listen and follow your surgeons instructions though.
