I didn't really care about the liver thing (well I did, but not really) until I watched the "live" surgery linked in these forums. You can actually see the liver and how it would get in the way. I've been MUCH better about my pre-op diet since seeing that!

My doctor wouldn't let me submit my insurance "package" until everything was done, including my nutritional visit. Once I was approved it took 3-4 days to get my surgery date, which was 3 weeks out. It's a frustrating process. I hope it goes smoothly for you!

My diet seems a bit different than those posted here. My surgery is on June 12th and so today I start my pre-op diet. I'm allowed 1,000 calories a day with little to no fat. Two days before the diet I am on a clear liquids-only diet. I'm not supposed to have caffeine..... I'm going to try to wean myself slowly rather than quit cold turkey. Last time I tried to go off of caffeine I thought I was dying for two days. :phanvan
