  1. Fatty liver (aka NASH) is one of the qualifying co-morbidities. Only cure is weight loss. I was diagnosed prior to WLS, but surgeon re-confirmed & said it will resolve as I lose. Fatty liver can lead to cirrhosis.
  2. You look gorgeous!!!! Great job! I get my sleeve at 9:15 in the morning--if I only have half as much success as you I will be thrilled!!!!!
  3. Bags packed. Bowels are prepping...LOL. Now to just keep from going crazy before tomorrow.
  4. Tomorrow. I'm terrified!!! But so excited!!
  5. Also, just so you know, the test tube protein shots have sorbitol which will give you crazy diarrhea. We give it with charcoal in the ER to overdose patients because the charcoal binds with the meds & the sorbitol gets it out quick. I have also learned this from personal experience too--terrible diarrhea. Trust me!
  6. I was given 6 packs of hibicleanse wipes--my instructions were to shower regularly night before-no lotion or anything after. Then, using 3 packages, wipe down front of neck, chest, abdomen, arms & legs, let dry then go to bed. Next morning, no shower & repeat the wipe procedure. No lotion or deodorant.
  7. My surgeon has me on "lean & green" (low carb/high protein) until tomorrow and then tomorrow I start Clear Liquids and do the bowel prep for surgery on Monday. As long as you don't cheat tomorrow I think you'll be fine.
  8. I will be sleeved on Monday 4/22-I'm packing my bag for the hospital. My doctor said 3 day/2night stay. Any suggestions/advice on must-haves for the hospital?
  9. OMG O_O I can't get over the difference. You rock girl!!! Congrats!!!!
  10. I consider it "research" for my WLS options. I HAD to talk to other peopleto see what their experiences were. Lol. Research....not addiction.
  11. My surgeons office said smokers are at huge risk for leaks. HUGE risk. I quit smoking about 5 years ago (part of why my weight shot up) & I'm really glad I did. I still want a cigarette I just remember how hard it was to quit & I don't want to have to start over. For your safety, at least try to stop pre-op & a few weeks post-op.
  12. I'm having surgery on the 22nd too!!! We are sleeve sisters! I'm in Texas. I'm super nervous too!! But so ready to get on with my life!!!!!! We are gonna do great!!!
  13. Y'all crack me up!! I'm so glad I'm gonna have y'all here on this forum after my surgery on Monday. I know this is a serious surgery for a serious issue but laughter is the BEST medicine and I love y'alls sense of humor!!!!!
  14. He ordered basic blood work & an EKG but that was all covered in the total amount for self pay (12,495). I have insurance so my PCP ( who is also a sleever & down 149 lbs) went ahead & did a full set of labs for baseline so we can see my progress in things like my sugar & cholesterol & filed that on my insurance. The self pay amount covers everything with my doctor.
  15. I'm using Dr. Babineau too but his price has gone up--$12,495. As much as it sucks to pay full price it's really nice to just cut through the BS and go straight to the front of the line. Although I've been researching for months my first consultation was last Thursday--my surgery is scheduled 18 days later. I am really excited but man I am getting anxious the closer it gets.
  16. I am in Tyler area--April 22nd with Dr. Babineau. Gettng really excited but the anxiety is really starting to creep in. Any advice?
  17. I'm in Texas. Surely there are more of us. The only April sleevers I can find on facebook are the April 2012 group. Couldn't find April 2013.
  18. Went for my consultation today and surgery is scheduled for April 22nd. I'm so excited! Surgeon was very reassuring & helped confirm my decision. Got all my vitamins & protein drinks bought. Went to PCP & he did all my pre-op labs & filed on my insurance since I am self pay. Now I've just gotta figure out where I'm gonna come up with $12,500 in 2 weeks. LOL! I am so excited!!
