  1. LOL hello my friend! I'm not going to change drs because of the diet - cancun is first choice BUT if I need to choose a new dr in TJ then pre op diet is important to me - I can't get my head around all you amazing people doing these harder diets?! I feel I don't have any control so that's why I'm here! ... I will continue my research once I've heard back from my friend ~ soon I hope!
  2. Right now I'm going w Perez as he's the dr in cancun but still waiting if my friend can get time off before I confirm. Failing that I'm open to a dr in TJ = reason I'm doing reaserch now! Lol
  3. I am starting to buy different pre made protien drinks so I can choose one and start getting used to it. Ill buy them and brig them w me. I'm only going to have liquids till I'm back home. I saw one lady had a soft boiled egg the day after surgery?!
  4. The 3 day diet I've been told is only Clear Liquids ... That's why I'm asking this question, some people have very different diets. I don't drink shakes or smoothys or yogurt - if I was on fear factor and was made to drink them I'd be eliminated - they make me gag. So before surgery and my hunger is much scarier than the first few weeks after when I don't have the same hunger or volume to fill - I love crystal light and can tolerate jelly ... And will make it work. But traveling a great distance mixed w jetlag and nerves etc I'm a little worried ill get arrested or ruin my friendship haha
  5. Hi, I could be wrong but I'm sure I've seen people say they went for a last meal the night before (Amanda Rae?) but maybe that just meant broth? Lol ill be travelling a long way and just generally worried about the no food thing 8 /
  6. So, I'm most worried about not eating for 3 days prior rather then the actual surgery?! Which drs dont make u do it? And why do the others make u if its not entirely necessary??? I understand about shrinking the liver but I'm on the lower BMI end. I've asked my coordinator 3 times just to make sure I do have to do liquid diet for 3 days. Help please!
  7. Mi doctor hospital dr Ortiz alighterme me thread
  8. I just read that dr Illan is a "dr" but not a surgeon and the rest of his credentials are fake?! Someone called to check up on him and they didn't have him on record.... Again hearsay but that's what I just read ... Ill try and find it on here
  9. Hi thanks for posting your experience! Sorry it didn't sound as nice as others ???? ... It would be scary not having medical professionals on hand - I'd be worried they wouldn't know of anything bad was happening - like they didn't really care you were there? Hope you're recovering well at home now - I'm hopefully 6 weeks away Rebecca
  10. Hahaha it's very .... Interesting
  11. I've heard a few times people saying they have more energy - for that reason alone I would have this surgery! I can't remember the last time I woke up and felt rested & energised!?! I haven't been to boxing in months and that's my passion ... Looking forward to getting in fighting shape again ????
  12. I this he's got a small "semi" happening lol
  13. How much weight did u loose? Im at 30 BMI and although I'm trying to eat MORE I think I'm stressed about organising this surgery and the scale isn't going up - worried ill get to Mexico and after 3 days of liquids ill go under and they won't do it ...
  14. Damn! Are u single?? Lol thanks for that ... It sounds as tho its going to be ok .. Just no heavy lifting .. The kids will have to walk for a few weeks (the baby is 2.5 - daycare all day) thanks for those tips ... I'm reading all the sports drinks in the supermarket for high protein, hydration etc ... Even bought some coconut water to try today ... I'm VERY picky w drink ... I don't like shakes or smoothys etc .. I need to practise lol
  15. That's good to know .. I imagine moms go right back on duty so hopefully ill be fine .. They have a cleaners so I want have to do that ... Il just take smaller bags of groceries into the house lol
  16. Thanks guys! I had asked my friend to get the time off for the cancun dates - but now I want to PV one!!! Don't know if I could handle the stress of waiting another week to find out if se can get it off! Lol ... I've heard the cancun hospital makes u want to run away when u first walk in but upstairs and surgery room are nice ... Oh well .. Ill have to wait and see!
  17. Oh god that would of been annoying -" thank you stranger, but I've got it under control! " Lol
  18. I'm going back after 7 days ... I'm the nanny of 3 kids (all at school during the day) ill just be on "mom" duties .. I run the house ... Is 7 days enough?
  19. I feel sorry for myself knowing I have to drink liquids for 3 days prior ... I don't know how u guys diet for 6 months! Power to you!! ( Mines May 11 hopefully)
  20. I was thinking about that the other night! I'm pre sleeve .. I was worried I'd just want to chew the yummy steak then spit it out but out of habit id swallow! It was like an awake nightmare lol ..
