Feb 25 is my 1 year surgery-versary and I've lost 110 lbs and still going. I am very happy with my surgery decision and hope to continue losing to get where I want to be. In any case I am much healthier now and for that I am grateful.
I could not find any full length photos of me at my heaviest so the pic on left is me after already losing 45 lbs and the pic on the right was taken a few days ago with my 110 loss. I still have some bulges to work on but happy to keep on working it out!

Congrats on one helluva job! You look fantastic btw but I bet you already know and more importantly FEEL that way My hubby lost 155 lbs on his sleeve and wavers around 200 now give or take...and also feels and looks good. I think it's the men that seem to lose more and faster. Did you end up having your gall bladder out from the rapid weight loss like my hubby?
My own 1 yr is coming up quick and I've still got a bit to go but not stopping till I get there! I'll post my own before/after Feb 25...

LOL on the neck. My husband had his surgery before me and had that weird neck thing and I was thinking omg I hope I don't get that. Well I did but oh well, it's not the worst thing in the world. His is not as bad as it was so I'm hopeful it smooths out a bit. I'm putting tons of lotion on my neck hehe.

    Hello Everyone!
Its been awhile since I posted on/or even looked at this forum. I was sleeved on Feb 27 2013 almost 1 year ago.
I have lost 87 pounds since then, hoping to round it off to an even 90 by the end of the month. I have also lost over 65" and then I stopped counting. I for sure was a slow but mostly steady looser. I did not follow some of the rules, I drink out of a straw for one (not encouraging that just keeping it honest)
I have had people not recognize me, or be totally shocked when they see me. Its embarassing and encouraging at the same time. Embarassing because I had let myself become obese, and I refused to acknowledge it or deal with it, or even look at myself in the mirror, take photos etc. I saw a photo of myself from about a year and half ago, I prob weighed 250 and I was mesmerized in a bad way. Who was that girl. Smiling on the outside drowning on the inside. I could barely look at for a minute.
I am still about 30 pounds off from my goal weight. I feel lighter and more confident, although loosing weight in your 40's does open up a whole new can of worms ie.,cellulite, wrinkles, my neck skin looks weird sometimes.(minus the double chin I guess..) I am sure I am overexagerating all of this because to me its always 10X worse than reality ( well maybe not the celulite on my thighs lol)
When I see myself in the mirror, I am captivated by this newer smaller body, other times, ( when I look at myself from behind) I am like, you need to loose 30 more pounds.
I can go into any store and buy clothes off the rack. I am now a canidate for skinny jeans. I have guys checking me out (that feels really good I have to be honest, I used to hate it, but 10 years with out it sure makes you appreciate it)
I am going on a cruise to the Bahamas in 2 weeks. If it weren't for the celulite I would totally rock a bikini. But I am so grateful that I get to take this smaller more authentic version of myself, instead of dragging along that heavy miserable fat girl I was a year ago.

10 a month has been my average now and at 1st I was not happy with it but now I realize it's a healthy loss. Hubby lost his faster and now he is getting his gallbladder out. So 10 lbs a month works just fine for me- I am not interested in having my gallbladder out now, lol.

we started at about the same place, I was 294. I was wearing 28 bottoms & 26/28 tops. Discouraged that my bottoms aren't coming down too fast, I am in a 24, but my tops have really changed, I am in an 18/20. We all lose differently!

Don't forget there is only so much Protein your body can absorb at a time. I looked around online and it seems to be about 20-30 g protein at a time depending on who you believe.....then several hours later your body can take in more. So I use that as my rule of thumb, if something has more then 25 g of protein i don't eat/drink all of it at one sitting.

Yes, mine started in at 3-1/2 mos and comes out in the fistfuls. It's really bad in the shower or after brushing. Luckily I have lots of hair. Hope it slows down soon! It's been interesting. If it would fall out of my armpits or legs I'd be happy haha but just coming off my head

    Surprising side effects of dehydration

    3 days ago, Reluctantly Healthy
In this episode "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" trainers and life coaches Chris and Heidi Powell educate host Judy Greer on the importance of staying hydrated. A huge plus for hydration, Judy says, is that it helps prevent wrinkles. But another unflattering side effect of dehydration is weight gain, Chris and Heidi caution. Even mild dehydration can slow down your metabolism by as much as 3%. Ninety percent of Americans are chronically dehydrated, and the body often misinterprets thirst for hunger. The effects are far from skin-deep: Lack of Water is the #1 trigger for daytime fatigue and headaches. What's the best temperature for your water? It depends, Chris says. If you want to hydrate yourself quickly drink it cold. But if you want to fill up and suppress your appetite, choose warm because it stays in your system longer and expands the stomach, sending a signal to your brain that you're "full." Watch for more of Chris and Heidi's tips on hydration, including how to use your body weight to determine how much you should drink daily.

Sleeved 2 months tomorrow (Feb 25) and down 41 lbs. I use myftnesspal to keep track of my calories and Proteins. I decided after my last "stall" maybe it helps to not eat the same things everyday, to keep my body guessing as to how many calories it can count on. So for me, my calories range from 500 to 1100 a day but I still try to keep my proteins up and the fat calories lower. Anyone else seeing something like this?
Also I admit, I'm not into lots of exercise. I just try to move around and do more then I used to. I try to park farther away at the stores, shop longer, keep a cleaner house (lol), anything that makes me get up and move around.
I'm looking for a place in Michigan that offers healthy foods like myfitfoods place (currently only in AZ, IL, CA, ID, TX, OK) . I do go to Whole Foods sometimes for their hotbar but would like other choices.
For anyone in the myfitfoods area they have a great deal for $75- you get 15 meals/snacks which is their 3 day challenge- https://www.myfitfoods.com/products/3-day-challenge
