I think you had every right to use those dumbbells. Instead of wandering all over the gym, he should have done his thing with them and then put them back for the next person to use....in this case, you. Other people working out do not have the time to worry about one person being such an a$$, nor should they have to.

You look great! Thanks for sharing! -
Ladybug, maybe you need to call his office and keep on them to get it done. I have my second appt with the surgeon Monday and Tuesday is my 6th month weigh in w/Dr. Kirk and then everything will be submitted to insurance....I'm nervous still, but getting more excited because it's almost here!!!!

I don't know who Dr. Worley is, but my sleep study was scheduled through Dr. Lewis' (the pulmonologist) office at Bailey. I didn't want to go all the way to Bailey for the sleep study, as it's a long drive for me, and told them I wanted to go to Hillcrest South. They sent the request to Hillcrest South and Hillcrest's scheduling department called me to set it up. I didn't have to make any calls myself to set it up.

6 month diet confusion
Kimmy1813 replied to NewAshes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As Arts said, every plan seems to be different. My insurance requires a 6 month supervised diet, which means I have 7 weigh ins in a 6 month period. I started January 2nd and my last weigh in is July 2nd and then everything will be submitted to insurance for approval. -
Angel, you are definitely not alone in this. I too felt that I was giving up in some way when I finally decided that I need to have this surgery, but after really thinking about things, I came to the conclusion that I am saving my life by doing this. Yes, there are risks associated with the surgery and I'm not going to lie, I am terrified because I have never had surgery before. But I'm definitely going to die if I don't do something about my weight. I can lose the weight on my own, but I can't keep it off. Every time I lose, I gain even more back. I have had high blood pressure and high cholesterol for several years. I started the process in January and during all of my required testing, I found out I am pre-diabetic and also have severe sleep apnea. So, I feel like I'm a ticking time bomb. I decided the possible complications of surgery definitely outweigh the guaranteed death sentence I have right now. Hopefully, I will be starting my new life as a sleeved person by the end of July I'm sorry that people have not been more supportive when you mention VSG; some people may not really understand what it entails, while others may not be supportive with anything you try. Just remember, you are doing this for you and your daughter, not those other people. There are a lot of people on this site who are very encouraging and helpful, so if you have questions, just ask. Welcome to the forum

That's awesome! Keep up the good work!

Ladybug, I'm not sure what the two day stress test is. My stress test was just a treadmill test that took a half hour or so. They also did a heart ultrasound that day before they put me on the treadmill. The only thing that took more than a few hours for me was the sleep apnea test, which was overnight of course.

Ladybug, I am also going thru Bailey in Owasso My surgeon is Dr. Katsis and I'm hoping for a July surgery. I know a few people who have went thru Bailey as well; two of them had Dr. Varnell and absolutely loved him.

Fear of dating after major weight loss
Kimmy1813 replied to OnlyDownFromHere's topic in Singles Forum
If you're in a committed relationship with someone you truly love and who truly loves you in return, why are you even thinking about the what ifs?! That's not fair to you or him. My husband loved me when I was thin and he loved me when I got fat. He passed away in 2007 and of course, now I have those worries about dating, because I am a single woman, hoping to fall in love with someone again someday. But I wouldn't have wanted to waste one single minute of our time together worrying about something that might or might not ever happen. So, why do you worry about it? Just enjoy the relationship you have now -
I've been looking into this procedure and plan on having it done sometime after my sleeve surgery, which is hopefully going to be done in July

My experience was equal to nervousnellie's; I received mine really quickly. Sorry you've had a bad experience....hope they get it resolved for you.

Well, I'm still moving forward....met with my PCP today and he wrote my letter for the insurance company. Told me he thinks the sleeve is a good choice for me and he feels that I will do great with it I have two more appts with the bariatric center before they can submit for insurance approval. So, keeping fingers crossed!

I would like to know about this as well. I have decided that I want to do the Essure procedure, but am waiting until after my sleeve surgery to take care of that. I don't personally know anyone that has had Essure, but would certainly like feedback from anyone on here who has

Kimmy1813 replied to bunchlane1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's awesome, Christine and Phoenix!! My stuff won't even be submitted to insurance until after my July 2nd appt, so hopefully the approval process will be quick so that I still get a July date. -
