Gallbladder attack - OUCH !
yeah, i had two babies at home... the pain from my gall bladder was definitely much worse than 2 unmedicated births! after following a super low fat diet (not good when you are nursing!) i gave in and had my removed. even the diet didnt stop the attacks and it was so freaking painful i usually vomited too when it started. much faster recovery than vsg.

Anyone lose too much weight and now have to gain back
being afraid to gain weight even when you are underweight is a symptom of an eating disorder. you need to find a therapist who specializes in ED to help you with this fear.

AM I the only one on this forum that has had surgery in the last 6 months and is having TROUBLE WITH WEIGHT LOSS?
def go see your surgeon, nutritionist and your PCP. you need to let them help you with this. you esp need to get treatment for stress. and the surgeon and nut should know what is happening with you so you can start losing again. and to find a respite program for you. someone who can come in a few hours a week to be with your husband. his insurance should pay for this. get help and support as much as possible.

I think I maybe having regrets
of you are vomiting a lot it could be a complication, or it could be that you are eating too fast, or taking too much food in with each bite. or both. or eating too much in volume. or not waiting long enough after you drink to eat. thats why its good to talk with your doctor's office. they can advise you if you need follow up with the doc. could be an issue or could be your learning curve.

Study Done on Accuracy of Activity Monitors
what a stupidly negative article. if trackers help people move more its all good, even of it isnt totally accurate!

Chest pressure n stomach discomfort.
go back to liquid for a few days. that's one of those "too full" signs. you might need to heal more before you can tolerate purees. it was several weeks for me.

I knew I shouldn't have said anything!
sometimes you just need to say, "thank you for your concern," smile and walk away. i have had 2 homebirths. when the pre op nurse was taking my history for surgery, she freaked out about it. she started shrieking and telling me i was "crazy" and "reckless." i was shocked a healthcare provider would act like this period, but i just smiled and asked her calmly if she needed any other info about my perfect, gentle, empowered births. and then i smiled, she got the message and stopped ranting and moved on. sometimes you just need to give people a few moments to compose themselves with silence, calm, smiles, or other non reactive responses. if you join with them in their reactions or intensity, you have lost control of the situation. i actually like this NP. she was the most helpful to me post op. she made a mistake, had an unprofessional reaction and needed time to get it together. just remain calm, smile, dont explain, and remember that everyone has their biases, and their inappropriate reactions. step back and give them the space to be who they are without feeling hurt by *their* issues.

Why is food ALWAYS involved?!
my mom has never been overweight. but she had an overweight husband and two kids who were overweight adults. (and i was a fat teen for a while) she is a food pusher. she cooked diet meals for my dad, but kept lots of ice cream and candy in the house at the same time... his weakness. she is a compulsive food shopper and will hoard food. will buy tons and tons of junk and cram her cupboards full. she would buy soda pop on sale and drop off at my brothers house (knowing he needs to be under a certain weight at work). i dont understand her. as a fat teen she would offer me all kinds of crap, ask repeatedly if i wanted seconds, thirds. she claims food is love for her, but its not food she lovingly cooked with her hands. its just garbage. my MIL certainly enables her food addicted boyfriend. but she is overweight too and claims the reason she makes such bad food choices when she has an autoimmune disorder is her boyfriends insistence on keeping bad food in the house.. so she gets to blame him while she enables him. i get that. i dont get my mom. my first H was abusive to me about my weight.. i worked really hard at the gym. my mom knew this. but she would still buy me crap, special! i have had to set boundaries with my MIL with my kids, she doesnt seem to see anything wrong with filling my son (who is trying really hard to control his weight!) with take out, candy, junk from morning till night when he is there! there are a lot of food pushers out there. i think each one of us probably knows a few! they could use some therapy too!

"Why don't you just diet and work out?!?"
i have faced similar thoughtless comments when people found out i was planning or had had homebirths. "why would you be so risky? just go to the hospital!" "why cant you be like other people?" "how reckless!" the pre op nurse at the hospital started shrieking and yelling that i was crazy and how could any doctor "let" me do that. (it was kinda of amusing the watch her freak out like that) i had canned responses. "thank you for your concern. my healthcare providers and i have decided this is a good decision for me." smile and then ask them a distracting question. people love to talk about themselves. if you get hooked into their emotional intensity about the issue, you are dead in the Water. the trick is to convey confidence in your decision and then move on. acknowledge they might be concerned (even if they arent, its a great tactic!), thank them and then act bored. if they ask more questions, just appear to be thinking hard and say, "i'll get back to you on that." if they persist, say, "i have to go meet my personal trainer." then leave or walk away. in the homeschooling community we call this the "pass the bean dip move." "thank you for being concerned about my kids. they are doing great! pass the bean dip please." and either stop talking and look disinterested or ask them something banal. "how's your mother in law's bunions?" "did you hear about the cow that fell in the canal?" "i found a new book at the library on turning old tee shirts into dog toys! have you ever had a dog?" non reaction is the best response.

PO VSG w/ lupus & diabetes
i would stop going to the gym until you are a little farther along. my doc said 6-8 weeks before the fatigue and low energy goes away. it was about 9 weeks for me ( i had complications from the surgery). the only thing i did before that was very gentle yoga and swimming. take it very easy for another month. walk, do restorative activities only, rest.

Why is food ALWAYS involved?!
it always makes me chuckle (in total irony) that the places i worked where there was the most and worst food were hospitals and the research institute on addictions. i gained so much weight in these places! its a real problem... my H has food allergies and is constantly confronted with FREE Cookies, donuts, etc. etc. at work. its constant. my daughter has been allergic to red dye since she was a toddler and the amount of PURE JUNK in all her activities and classes is astounding.
